COMMENT

Q3 is off to a shaky start. Q1 was good and Q2 great. Everybody is excited by earnings growth with the S&P up 30%+ based on Google's report last week of $98 billion of profit, but that came from Spacex shares. Investors ask what is the AI picture for the next 12-18 months? Uncertainty over the Fed's interest rate policy (will they hike and when?) is concerning investors. What's driving that is the uncertain US-Iran war. So, investors are stepping back from the momentum trade of the last 3 years to wait. AI is half the US GDP growth, but meanwhile, China is building new AI models that will drop the pricing of AI.

SELL

His company had recommended it, but reversed that because of INTU's slowing growth. It suffered with software companies in the SAASpocalypse. Also, Intuit has laid off many workers. Their key product, Turbo Tax, is under threat. It's no longer the go-to tech name. Sell it for tax-loss selling.

COMMENT

It got whacked in the SAASpocaylpse, but TRI has a great historic database of huge value. TRI isn't as bad as the market makes it out to be. If money ever rolled out of AI, it would return to software.

DON'T BUY

A great name, but like the banks, its dividend has fallen a lot. Growth is merely okay.

DON'T BUY

A tough one. The dividend has been expected to be for a long, long time. When BCE cut its dividend, its shares did not take, because the cut was priced in. The big question is about the operating businesses. Watch their call about their cash flow which cannot sustain the dividend. Before selling it, watch the Q2 report and CEO remarks closely.

PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Jul 18/25, Up 30%)

It's the best gold miner in the world. He had a large holding, since trimmed. Buy at current levels. Gold is insurance, good to hold if the world goes to hell in a handbasket.

PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Jul 18/25, Up 222%)

He trimmed it earlier. AMD is a bit tired now. He wanted exposure in hot chips stocks. AMD was much cheaper than Nvidia, and played valuation catch-up.

PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Jul 18/25, Up 48%)

It rose the recovery in oil and gas prices. Holds it for exposure to natural gas in Europe and Canada. VET was underloved. A cheap stock.

BUY

A go-to energy name he's owned in the past. He has no issues with WCP. Incredibly managers. Are good capital allocators. The price of oil won't return to $60. So now is a good entry point. WCP pays a good dividend. It offers inflation protection.

DON'T BUY

Worried about its growth from the consumer. In the  He wants to see how its sale of some assets to Canada Packers plays out.

PARTIAL SELL
Sell because its dividend has fallen?

Many who have held this for a while face the problem of taking the capital gain and turning it income for the rest of their lives. Selling RY pays a 2.39% dividend could work if it's in a registered tax so you don't have to pay that tax immediately. The stock market looks toppy, so you can take some profits and transfer that in a high-yield security to generate income.

WATCH

Silver skyrocketed early this year, then collapsed. He can't call a bottom. Silver is a great trade. Do you buy silver or a silver company? Watch for a gold bottom first before entering silver.

BUY ON WEAKNESS

Is a little expensive now, but is waiting for a lower price. Watch the chart. They recently benefited from the rise in oil prices.

WATCH

The more people hold onto their existing cars, the less money Boyd makes. They do a great job fixing your car, but an insurance company will write off an old car, leading you to buy a new car, because it costs more to repair an old car. Is interesting to watch. The company plans to double cash flow in 5 years.

TOP PICK

He doesn't expect the US-Iran war to end anytime soon. Oil will go higher.
