BUY
A currency hedge as a lot of revenues are from outside of North America. A lot of their equipment is in South America, one of the fastest growing mining segments in the world. A conservative way to get exposure to Westport. Spending a lot of time and energy in England trying to get their rental business back on track. Good long term buy.
BUY
One of the better technology companies. The dip in price because of the recent merger is a buying opportunity. A good long term story and good management.
DON'T BUY
Their chips are very good and giving Intel a run for their money. An increasing commoditized market. Very difficult to grow the margins and these will come under more pressure as it migrates more and more towards Asia. Becoming a very unattractive sector.

Have done a pretty good job. Not a fabulous year, but not bad. Very competitive. A continuing fight for market share.
WEAK BUY
Gold companies are a play on the US$ at this time. If you buy, it might as well be one with good resources and has a history of making money. Would rather buy this than a junior explorer.
DON'T BUY
Likes to buy companies that make money and this one doesn't. The prospects of them making money seems to be cloudy. Doesn't see any visibility of earnings.
DON'T BUY
Has been a disappointment for the last 2 years. Has great products. Needs 2 or 3 solid quarters in a row.
DON'T BUY
Had an unbelievable growth rate for about 3 years. Oversaturated their market.
DON'T BUY
Looking a little pricey. The problem they face is that there will be more global supply coming on in 2006. It's possible methane prices will start to fall in 2005. Take some profit now.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Oct 12/04. Down 6%.) Still thinks the aluminum story is good. A little surprised that it hasn't done better than it has. Still a believer.
TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Oct 12/04. Up 6%.) Earnings were terrific. Has good margins. Very nice geographical mix. Trades at quite a low multiple.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Oct 12/04. Up 9.5%.) All results in 2004 have exceeded expectations.
DON'T BUY
Biggest problem with the drugs has to do with the litigation problems in the US. George Bush has asked Congress to drastically reduce the awards. If successful, it will be a huge win for drug companies.
TRADE
The only drug company they own and it is for the medical devices and for the consumer products rather than the pharmaceuticals.
DON'T BUY
Had failed to keep up technologically in a very rapidly changing industry. Doesn't feel that anyone's going to get really rich manufacturing cell phones any more. Margins are being driven down.
