COMMENT
They still only have a couple products that are growing. Other drugs are in their infancy or not growing. If they're not able to cover debt with free cashflow, you won't see any dividends.
COMMENT
Revenue didn't grow in the last quarter. Issue with Canadian utilities is that they acquired companies and have debt. If they can grow their revenue base, can keep paying back debt. Has been making acquisitions, like in wind power, but must see how the coal to natural gas conversion plays out. It could go sideways.
COMMENT
They've lowered expectations, and buying back shares. Can see more volatility. Earnings were up 8% in the last quarter but it all went to share buyback. They aren't putting money in capital expenditures to give executives bonuses. Doesn't like it.
BUY
No reason to switch. Have had the best return, performance and dividend increases. They have less volatility. Yield is 3%
DON'T BUY
Can they cover their debt payments? Transportation division is stumbling with an awful last quarter that pushed the price below 2$
DON'T BUY
Too much debt that they will have to pay down in the next 5 years. Wouldn't buy it at this point.
TOP PICK
They only own government bonds in cash in their investment portfolio that will make money if interest rates go down. Ability to grow earnings over the next while. Will benefit from falling interest rates. Yield 1.97%
TOP PICK
Private equity is illiquid, but BAM.A makes money off private equity and charges fees. They shouldn't be hurt as badly if there is a market correction. A good defensive play.
TOP PICK

If Trump wants to increase deficits and interest rates fall, this tends to move up faster. Not correlated to the stock market, so good for diversification. Yield of 2.1%
