BUY ON WEAKNESS
Have been waiting for a pullback as it's currently fully valued.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Raised the dividend near the end of December giving it a 4.5% yield. Buying under $29 with an increase to $31/32 gives you 8% return plus the dividend giving a double digit return which is good in this market.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Now 60% wireless which is the growth sector. Will buy more under $30.
WEAK BUY
Has been in a slow decline. Its customers are Sun Microsystems, IBM, Hewlett Packard, etc. A nice cross section of the North American computer section, but It just doesn't seem to be happening quick enough. Probably a trading range from $16 to $20 so treat as a trading stock.
HOLD
Looking at $125 coal on some of the contracts being sold. Stock is pretty fully valued now. Distribution will probably go down in '06.
DON'T BUY
Steels have probably peaked, will remain at historic highs, but at a slightly lower level. Ipsco at that level will probably earn $5 this year and $3/3.50 in '06, which makes it a $50 stock. An entry point would have to be $40 for a reasonable gain.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Diverted into chemicals and more recently into building products where they have opportunities to diversify and grow. Still 50% propane. Management has a good track record of integration. A good trust.
BUY
Has the most leverage and generates the most cash. Try to buy in the $28's.
HOLD
Tax loss selling has dropped its price. Did most of what they said they would, i.e. move from a loss to a break even and then drive on. Got to break even, but last quarter was slightly disappointing. Macro overview on semi-conducters is that the cycle may be coming to an end.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Nov 15/04. Up 1.5%.) Not all synergies have been met on the John Hancock deal, so their is still some steam left. Try to buy in the $54 range which would give yoiu a return of 15%.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
It just steams along and they occasionally raise the dividend. Has its own little tops and bottoms and currently near its top, so buy on weakness. Try to buy a couple of $'s lower. A great long term hold.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Nov 15/04. Up 10%.) Now converting into a trust. The valuation when this is completed is $32.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Nov 15/04. Down 2.5%.) Still likes. One of the few stocks that is nowhere near its 52 week high. Has reported a couple of decent quarters here. Would still be a buyer at this level.
DON'T BUY
Extremely expensive. Likes the outlook for uranium and there might be some junior mining companies that will be coming in to the market in the next few months.
BUY
Had a premium valuation early last year, and underperformed, so is now back to about an average value. Going forward, it's probably fine and expects a fairly flat price for the year, but with distribution you probably get 10% for the year which isn't bad.
