BUY
The Oil Sands is a great investment over a long term. This and Western Oil Sands (WTO-T) are great assets and will continue to grow. Likes the dynamics of oil. Within that, oil could fall $5/10 over a period of time. You have to think of these things as a long term story, but there might be some short term dip.
TOP PICK
Likes the pharmaceutical industry. The market is not thinking about the tremendous amount of cash they throw off and that they are cheap. Made the right move by not taking Celebrex off the market. Good pipeline.
DON'T BUY
A very expensive stock. Great technology and product. The risk is that the dynamics of this industry is changing very quickly with convergance of phones, computers, etc. which could cause trouble for it.
TOP PICK
The big jump in the stock was overdone and expects there will be a pullback. There are a lot of things it still has to do, so it's not a clear cut story. Management is taking action on cahnges needed and they have some really good people.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Restructuring and changing in many ways. Good management. Have executed very well and have made some acquisitions that are going to work out over the long term. May take awhile. Would probably BUY at a little lower level.
DON'T BUY
Doesn't like the steel industry. Companies have been helped by the price of steel going up so high. Have to be careful and buy a good company that is run well and that is key in the steel industry. Feels that China has been building plants and that they will be an exporter of steel.
TOP PICK
Had some accounting issues in the past. All new management. The food services business is a good business. Have lots of operating leverage. Feels they will be able to increase their net margins from 1% to 3% which would double their earnings. Have cleared out a lot of non-core assets.
BUY
A great bank. They concentrate on key areas, especially retail banking. Not involved with investment banking. Yield is 3.2%.
