BUY
Positive on silver.
BUY
Performing extremely well. Expects they will ramp up their production fairly quickly, following the strike settlement. It didn't pull back when the sector pulled back.
DON'T BUY
The news in January that reserves where reduced and earnings estimates being cut, pushed the stock down. Same thing applies to others, but they have started recovering.
HOLD
Has performed pretty well over the last year. One risk is if Disney, trying to thwart a takeover, tries to do a takeover of a distribution company.
BUY
Down today, but things it's a short term blip. Isn't taking it out of its trend. There is a risk that their stent will not be approved but feels it is a small risk.
DON'T BUY
A little bit of concern is that Dow industrials hit a new high but Dow transports failed. Some of the rails are showing weakness.
TRADE
It looks as though it could continue to be strong, but one caveat is that some of the telecom stocks are showing some weakness which would impact them.
HOLD
Have carved out a dominant global franchise. Bear in mind that they will be impacted by the sector which is now going through some headwinds. Keep that stop/loss on it.
DON'T BUY
The super regional banks had been performing quite well. Good balance sheet. Strong financials and management. Share price has been stagnant because of fears of them making an acquisition. Would prefer others such as Wachovia Bank.
BUY
Well-run. Prefers it over Wells Fargo as it is moving a little bit faster. Feels this is the strongest one in the group.
DON'T BUY
Auto parts are not performing particularly well. A well-run company and have done a great job in increasing their content per vehicle but, with the sector been out of favor, it could be tough.
HOLD
Most of the wireless have gone from cash flow negative to cash flow positive and are in growth markets.
DON'T BUY
Their products are not having a particularly good time, and in fact are declining. Have not been able to rally through the stock market rally. A classic under performer and if the market should weaken it will drop more so.
PAST TOP PICK
(A top pick Dec 3/03. Up 2.3%.) Equipment companies in Canada and the US had a bit of a pullback but feels the strength is coming back. Strong overseas sales and will do well with a weaker US$.
PAST TOP PICK
(A top pick Dec 3/03. No change.) Their engineering business is interesting and their Hwy #407 is a very good investment.
