COMMENT

What is the outlook for Yamano Gold? 2.2% yield, well funded and potential to grow. Good free cash flow. but on the light side. If looking for a senior gold mining company it is the one to own. Not optimistic in Argentina. Missed expectations for their earnings last week. Bringing on 3 mines in one year, may miss their production deadlines.

TOP PICK

(Top Pick May 10/12, Down 12.86%) He has added back the half he sold earlier in the year. It is now actually expensive. It may go a little lower into the summer. It has a growth profile going forward.

BUY

A little base building there. A shorter term trade right now. Wait to see that it break out above $13 then we have a gap that happened in April. Then we would run into resistance at $16 and above that it will have a longer run.

COMMENT

Has looked at this, but prefers Agnico Eagle (AEM-T). His company is “neutral” on this but has a $16.50 target.

BUY

Likes it. It is a great company. He thinks Gold will continue to trade sideways or down. You want to get gold in the mid- to late- summer. This has better growth prospects than the bigger ones.

WATCH

He thinks we will get a washout at some point. No one knows what it will look like. It is not panic selling right now. Watch SII by Sprott. It has been under pressure and we know they are under pressure at this point. When this stock capitulates, this may be a bottom.

COMMENT

Fundamentally, this looks like one of the better gold names. Could be some political risks with their Argentinean properties. He prefers names that are in North America. Be careful of this whole space at this point.

BUY

(Market Call Minute) A company you would consider adding if you want exposure to both copper and gold. They have delivered on plans, met costs and met guidance by taking bite size projects.

DON'T BUY

We are in an environment where gold stocks have been underperforming for a couple of years now. They seem to be trying to find lows at these levels, but he is not a “bottom fisher”. Golds are having a bounce today after weeks of abysmal price behaviour. Seasonally this doesn’t tend to be a great time to buy golds. He prefers to see a meaningful change in price trend before stepping in.

WATCH

Support at $1550. He wants to see the current level of support hold and then it bounce back up.

TOP PICK

Thinks golds will start to do well, the longer gold does not go up. Has been a good performer because of execution. There will be a desire for investors to get leveraged exposure to gold, such as through this one. Their big cap-X program ends this year and they go into significant free cash flow. Fully expects dividend to increase.

WAIT

One of the better performing gold stocks. Historically did very well but had a couple of quarters where they didn’t deliver on production. Developing new mines and certainly have delivered on earnings and cash flow. The whole gold group has been in the doghouse. Won’t improve unless the price of gold starts getting better. Currently in a trading range.

DON'T BUY

We missed the secondary run last fall (Jul-Sep). Do you ever see reversals in non-seasonal times? Seasonality has fundamental reasons beneath it. Stay away from it right now. It could do something during the seasonally weak period but not something he would do. Gold is out of favour right here. We lost support at $1550. We tested it a number of times and now it looks like it will break. There is also a descending triangle right now.

BUY

Gold. Price has pulled back. It is a function of the economy improving, even though governments are printing more and more money. Gold is seen as a safe haven asset. She is positive on gold short term based on money printing. YRI-T has been doing well. In the past they were acquiring assets to grow but now they are getting them into operation. She owns Gold and G-T, rather than this one.

PAST TOP PICK

(Top Pick Oct 9/12, Down 19.29%) Down due to price of gold. No operational hiccups. Produce gold from the Americas, healthy balance sheet, and low debt levels. Bought mine in South America and will see production ramp up this year and growing more in the future.
