DON'T BUY
Likes Columbia’s prospects. High quality company. Is uncomfortable with them going into Peru. They are talking about raising royalties. You are starting from scratch with infrastructure. This one is not quite cheap enough for where he would like it.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Down about 20% despite oil being strong.; Drilled a number of dry holes. Cash on balance plus proved and probable reserves is very discounted by market. Buy it just above $6.
COMMENT
Colombian oil producer. Kind of neutral on producers at this time and prefers to play it through the services side. Prefers something like Estrella (EEN-X).

HOLD
Tries to keep most of his investments in North America but does own a bit of this. Had an okay reserve report that came out. Missed a little on production and shares dropped.
BUY
Had a huge run. Was debt free and had $200 million in cash. Had some nice wells and stock did exceptionally well until about 3-4 months ago. Had a couple of dry wells, which took all the wind out of their sails. Great balance sheet and the company clearly know what it’s doing. If you have a 2 year time frame, this is a great entry point.
HOLD
Wouldn’t aggressively buy. A lot of companies active in Columbia are experiencing fairly high decline rates. It still trades at a substantial premium to net asset value, so it’s overvalued.
SELL
In Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Argentina. Big asset that is producing for them now is the oil asset in Colombia. Sees a $5 hard value but the market is paying over $3 for the exploration potential and recently they’ve announced a number of D&A (Dry and Abandoned) If it dropped a couple of bucks he would take a more constructive view.
BUY
Have been doing well in production numbers. Have a lot of cash flow. Most of the drilling they will be doing over the next 24 months or so is through internal cash flows. Have a lot of targets in Peru.
TOP PICK
Energy is about a 40% weight in his portfolios, specifically mid-caps with growth, production and reserves and focused on oil or liquid rich gas. This one has grown production to about 15,000 barrels a day and will probably grow to 22,000-23,000 this year. Doing development and exploratory drilling in Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and Peru. Have multiple catalysts coming over the next few months. About $300 million in cash.

COMMENT
Bankers Petroleum (BNK-T) in Albania versus Gran Tierra (GTE-T) in Colombia? From a political standpoint, Colombia is more stable but his choice here would be Canacol Energy(CNE-X)and Estrella (EEN-X). Albania is starting to get political protests.
BUY
This is one of those companies that is in the right place. They have a real opportunity in Columbia. A great management team. Near term catalysts because they are involved in a drilling program where there should be news flow. The upside is significant if they have success. They have a pretty good balance sheet. Not likely to need to go to market to raise capital in the near term.
