TOP PICK
A nice Conservative place to be in uncertain markets. Some controversy on the number of their pages created a drop in the price.
BUY
Took a sharp drop in the last few weeks but is now rebounding. Has to do with a specific negative research report. Feels the report was somewhat misleading.
COMMENT
Has been a great story and has done well, but was discouraged by the yield it was trading at. Veritas recently issued a report and the price dropped so he'll have another look at it.
BUY
A core holding. They are consciously culling low margins accounts out and concentrating on higher margin accounts. Down 3% today and would treat it as an opportunity.
WAIT
A research company recently announced that the amount of pages being sold was off 5/7%. This created a drop in the price. This is making the yield more attractive (7%) but would be more comfortable if the yield where 7.5%.
BUY
Can't understand why it is trading under $15. Attractive yield. The company is very steady. Likes the segment. Long-term prospects are very good.
BUY
Valuation is high, but has always been high. They continue to grow and continue to beat the estimates.
DON'T BUY
Yield is 6.5%. That is not quite enough of a premium over what you could get in a long-term bond.
BUY
One of the biggest income trusts. They have made very good accretive acquisitions over the last couple of years. Have been able to grow their cash generation internally. A nice yield that has been growing and should continue growing.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick May 3/06. Flat.) Made an acquisition and funded it with a $300 million convertible which should remove concerns. 6.9% yield. Still likes.
BUY
One of the premier income trusts. Yield is about 6.5/7%. Valuation is still very fair. Working on some good activities for their clients.
TOP PICK
6.4% yield. This stock is very liquid. Has had rising distributions and expect there is another increase coming. Have made great acquisitions over the last couple of years that have been accretive. Think they can grow 6/7% in revenues.
BUY
An excellent income trust. Have a dominant position in their market. Low capital expenditure requirements. Relatively low payout ratio.
WEAK BUY
In terms of an income producing investment, it has provided a pretty solid background. Thinks the yield is getting a little low and you should be able to find other business trusts with a much higher yield.
DON'T BUY
Has probably seen its best day's. Its major growth is behind it. Now has to grow through acquisition of non-related companies/industries. Just becoming a yield play here.
