PotashCorp (POT.TO)

TOP PICK
Huge base, then a secondary base that it is just about to break out of. It has everything going for it. Up trend should last into next year.
BUY
Once you get under $50, this is a buy. Market for fertilizer is great globally. This is probably the premier potash producer in the world.
BUY
Likes this company but has focused more on Agrium (AGU-T) because of their nitrogen, it is cheaper and their wholesale/retail aspect. Asian population growth by 2025 will be up by 770 million.
DON'T BUY
Hopefully they make $4-$5 a share next year in this good agricultural market, but a cyclical business like this should trade at 10X earnings i.e. $40. Owning this you are actually playing that potash prices go up, which is really hard to predict. Would rather wait until it gets hit and drops 30% or more.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Below $50 would have been a good time to buy. Likes this one for the long-term. Good things are going to happen. They are growing their mines. Potash prices have seemed to stabilize and going higher. Wildcard is that corn prices are going down so farmers will need less potash.
BUY
Agriculture stocks have done very well through this period. Hasn't been as oversold as banks, financials and the oils. There will be good demand next year on the potash side.
WATCH
If we get some stability in the market, these are places are going to get well quickly. Seasonality for fertilizers is from July into later fall.
BUY
Pretty cheap and now would be a good time to buy.
HOLD
Just came out with some excellent earnings. Predominant player in potash. He would hold off buying until the situation in the US is settled. If you own, this is a good long-term hold.
DON'T BUY
There have been increases for the prices of nutrients recently and will bode well for share price. The valuation is not compelling enough for him to get into a one-product company.
BUY
You just have to look around the world to see what is happening with the weather and crops conditions and crop forecasts to realize this company is in a remarkably good place. Expects potash prices to continue to increase.
PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick May 24/11. Up 0.54%.) Sold June $52.50 Puts for $1.96.

BUY
Wait for a stock to bottom out when it splits. There is no incremental supply for potash out there. He would hang on to the name indefinitely.
BUY
A producer, not retailer. More expensive than AGU. Likes both of them. Stress on global demand on potash.
TOP PICK
Potash is very strategic and concentrated in only a few parts of the world. This company is the biggest producer and continues to build out capacity to maintain their place in the market.
