Stockchase Opinions

Thinks this gets dragged slowly along with other agricultural items. Brilliantly run. A good one to hold. Won't give you the super spikes that you are getting with other areas of agriculture.

COMMENT

6.406% bonds due Feb 16/21. What impact will a takeover by Glencore have on these? Feels that at the end of the day this will be negative for bondholders and positive for stockholders. Glencore is not guaranteeing Viterra’s debt. Also, they are planning on selling about $2.6 billion of Viterra’s assets, which is a negative for the bonds.

BUY

(Market Call Minute) Buy because it is off a bit from the implied deal price.

HOLD

Thinks this is a done deal. Glencore has taken it over. There are parts of business that AGU had taken over and sold to CF industries. A week to 3 weeks and this should be wrapped up.

PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick June 30/11. Up 56.27%.) This company was acquired. Sold his holdings at $16.
SELL
Nothing is going to happen to the company. It is dead money for now. No prospect for another bid so not prospect for upside. Hopefully you can find something better to do with the money.
SELL
Approved takeover today so it will be de-listed. At this point you take your money early and re-invest it. Move the money to Alliance Grain Traders.
COMMENT
The sale of this company has been approved and Saskatchewan government will not be interfering.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick June 30/11. Up 53.5%.) Sold at $16.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick May 30/11. Up 34.3%.) Sold his holdings at $16 on the takeover news.
COMMENT
Subject to a takeover with a bunch of people looking at different chunks of the company. Likelihood of further gains on a potential takeover is pretty limited.
PARTIAL SELL
(Market Call Minute.) Will likely be taken over. Sell out when it gets taken over.
SELL
Thinks most people will opt to take the money and run with it. He took profits at $14 because he thought it was fully valued. Is glad he did because if the bid were thwarted, it would go back where it was. He thinks it will ultimately close.
N/A
About to be taken over by a conglomerate. Have had a kind of struggled relationship wit the market. It ran up and ran back down. They are very large. But the issue is how well managed are they. The parts are worth more than they are worth. The market is skeptical on all sorts of levels. A lot of the stock has moved into the hands of the owners. They mute the trading and wait for the deal. The best companies in Agri are private. Still holds some. He is overweight the energy sector, but not gas.
HOLD
People are looking at their numbers and it is almost a foregone conclusion that someone will get them. There are lots of people that could find parts of CY very attractive.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
It tells him that he wants to be involved in the agricultural space. At this price it is too expensive. If it pulls back he would buy it in a heartbeat. People need to get exposure to agriculture.
