BUY
Its outlook is very much driven by oil prices. Has a lease on some property in the oil sands. Will have to make a decision to either sell itself or raise capital to develop the high cost project. Buy on prices below $5.
HOLD
Would consider selling on strength. This is a name that is going to be a little ways away in terms of production. Until it is a proven entity, it doesn't warrant much more buying.
HOLD
Has been in and out of the stock. Had a huge run and has given most of it back. It won't see cash flow until years in the future. Cost factors are going way up. Coming back into a buying range on a longer term basis.
BUY
Bloom went off the “oil sands” rose about a month ago with the dramatic increases in the estimates of costs. With the current world conditions, this will eventually come back.
BUY
Has an outstanding manager. This company has great exposure to the Fort Hills operation with the majority ownership being Petrocan (PCA-T) and Teck Cominco (TCK.B-T) to a lesser extent.
DON'T BUY
Large companies are extremely interested in the oil sands, so this could be a takeover at some point. Stock has dropped because of the increased costs in running their projects. Their project that is not in production yet. Would prefer one that is producing today, such as Western Oil Sands (WTO-T).
DON'T BUY
Doesn't see any visible “fair market value” for the stock and is currently trading up at about 8 X book value. This is the last one that he would want to be in of all the oil stocks in the oil patch.
BUY
Did an incredible job of putting together the oil sands project with Petrocan (PCA-T) on the refining and Teck (TCK.B-T) on the mining. Prefers Suncor (SU-T) as it is the most conservative way to play.
DON'T BUY
An interesting way to play the oil sands, but very volatile. Prefers playing through the large caps.
DON'T BUY
Doesn't buy stocks if they don't have earnings and this one has no earnings. His model price is $0.95!
TOP PICK
Has struck some tremendous purchases and partnerships. Feels there have probably been discussions on a takeover. Very cheap. Assets are a very good.
BUY
Exposed to the oil sands, so a long-term play. For earnings, you have to look far into the future. Well-positioned and could be a take over.
WAIT
The key issue is the disposition of what happens in the oil sands. If there is a major delay brought on by unconscionable government interference, this will suffer along with the other oil sands stocks.
SELL
This is an earlier stage oil sands play and there is more risks then you need to take. Would prefer Suncor (SU-T) that is producing today and has fairly rapid rising production.
WEAK BUY
Junior company that has a great oil sands asset and have brought in Petro Canada (PCA-T) and Teck Cominco (TCK.B-T) as partners to help develop it. At some point down the road, they will probably be a takeover.
