Agrium (AGU.TO)

BUY
A lot of seasonality to fertilizer companies. A well-run company. If you buy, it could be ridden up for 20% or so.
BUY
Driven by the agricultural sector. Had quite good earnings when nitrogen prices moved higher. Just about to enter the South American planting season which would be good for them. Trades at 10 X earnings which is cheap.
BUY
Well-managed. Starting to see signs of recovery in nitrogen and phosphate prices. Should generate substantial profits.
BUY
Expect the stock to move up. Treat as a trading stock, not a long-term hold.
BUY
Made a long base between 2001/2003. Had a breakout in 2003 but is now having a correction which is a buying opportunity.
PAST TOP PICK
(A top pick Apr 29/04. Down 1%.) A little nervous about this company. As a stop loss below $16.50.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Should see a little bit of upsurge. Fully valued in the high teens.
DON'T BUY
Fertilizer stocks have been under pressure recently. Reported numbers that were somewhat disappointing. Very dependent on the weather. A good company. Well-run. Earnings could be variable over the next while.
TOP PICK
Trading right on its technical support, but important that it holds right here. Decent upside potential.
PAST TOP PICK
(A top pick Oct 4/03. Down 8%.) Was probably a bit early. The channel is still there, so he still likes.
HOLD
Going through a bit of correction. It's support is around $14/15, so see how it behaves there.
DON'T BUY
Nitrogen fertilizer prices have started having some severe weakness recently.
BUY
Has a huge base. The breakout and has dropped back testing the breakout. A good place to buy. Use a stop/loss of $17.
BUY
Can still see another 10/15%. Not a favorite.
TOP PICK
Has been a big laggard against other material stocks. With a drought finished on the prairies, this is a good place to be.
