Daylight Energy Ltd (DAY.TO)

BUY
(Market Call Minute.) Really likes this one. Has a lot of upside.
PAST TOP PICK
(Top Pick Sep 24/09, Up 21%) This was a gas trade going into the rally to happen in the fall. They are 60% gas. Inventory is measured in terms of 100’s of locations.
SELL
Gassy. Has moved up a little but will probably have to cut its double-digit yield distributions. Expect it will retreat at that point. If you want to be tricky, you could sell it now and buy it back after the cut. He prefers something oilier.
HOLD
(Market Call Minute)
BUY
60/40 gas to oil. Likes it going forward. Mid-sized producer in Alberta. Will continue to make acquisitions to add to cash flow. Would buy it here. Probably distributions will get cut but will be no impact unless in an RRSP because of tax advantages.
BUY
(Market Call Minute.) Will be converting in May and expect that they will get more shareholders.
BUY
Very positive on this. Could run up to $12-$13 over the next 12-18 months. Yield is sustainable.
HOLD
Acquisition of Highpine gave them a 30% weighting in oil. With their CapX plans they are going to be north of 100% payout ratio, which is a little concerning. Oil side is good.
TOP PICK
Combination of income and growth. On the negative side it is about 70% gas so vulnerable to a distribution cut early next year. Likes what it has done in accretive acquisitions that will add a lot of value. Excellent group of drilling prospects. Some great land purchases and gradually changing to oil.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Sept 24/09. Up 2.35%.)
TOP PICK
Acquisition of Highpine gave them a 30% weighting in oil. Will be able to take the cash flow from this and reinvest it in natural gas. Also has a lot of conventional acreage but new technology will make these plays a lot more profitable. 11.2% yield should be safe for the next 12 months. When they convert to a corp, dividend will probably go down but will be more than made up for in growth.
TOP PICK
Overweight to natural gas and he feels natural gas is a pretty safe harbour now. Some good properties and are continuing to increase production. Acquired another trust that gives them 30% weighting in oil. Thinks 10.7% yield is sustainable.
SELL
(Market Call Minute.) Has a decent yield of 10.6% but is ahead of its FMV. Doesn't like these kind of stocks
BUY
Positive on natural gas longer term. Yield of 10.8% is safe.
BUY
Took a half position and looking to build it up. Recently acquired High Point, which is very well situated in south-central and western Alberta. Thinks the 11.6% distribution is safe. Very cheap relative to its peers.
