STRONG BUY
A commanding presence in the Bakken play. Acquired a number of companies over the years. Recently converted to a Corp. and maintained the same cash flow, which is a net positive. Have about 1600-1800 drilling locations ahead of them and a considerable inventory of un-fractured stimulated wells. 7.6% dividend is sustainable for the medium term.
TOP PICK
Very aggressive dynamic management. Converted from a trust but still pays 7.5%. About 75%-80% oil. Did a big issue of shares and had a couple of takeovers. Into the Bakken play.
COMMENT
Oil. Distribution should be safe. Big exposure is in the Bakken play in Saskatchewan. We'll continue to do well.
BUY
Focused on oil especially in Saskatchewan. Strong portfolio of assets.
DON'T BUY
Like many energy companies, it does not rank well in his models because he looks for near-term earnings growth. Bottom 5% of his database. Most recent year-over-year earnings were down 90% and he sees no dramatic pickup in earnings.
BUY
Previous issue they did closed today so there was some flipping done. Will show above average growth. Dividend wont change bit stock price will go up.
HOLD
(Market Call Minute.) Valuations are just creeping up a little. If you have a longer-term timeframe, you hold it you make a lot of money.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Oct 2/08. Up 35%.) Great name. Oily which bodes well. Have consolidated the Bakken play in Saskatchewan and just made a new acquisition of Wave Energy. Pretty fully valued. If you own, consider taking some profits.
TOP PICK
Highest quality producer of oil in Canada. Have sweet and semisweet oil in Saskatchewan. There will be a re-ordering of how people look at oil companies and this one will be one of the key ones.
TOP PICK
Excellent production growth. Largest landholder in the Bakken area with phenomenal production growth. Just acquired a private company (Wave Energy) that increases its land position. 90% of its production is light oil. Add on pullbacks.
HOLD
Fantastic management. A favourite of everybody's so the stock is not cheap by any stretch. No gas exposure. Good dividend. An incredibly good solid holding.
HOLD
Tremendous assets. If you are a long-term holder and can stand the pain over the short-term, continue to hold.
BUY
Was an oil/gas trust but incorporated for growth. A kept distribution at a high level so is still a good income situation. Oil heavy, which he likes. Just made some acquisitions in the Bakken area and also issued some shares. Good long-term hold.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Converted back from a trust but kept the dividend and is paying it monthly. Bakken oil play. Lots of growth. A Buy under $34.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Pure play in light crude in the Bakkens. Recently poking around the Shaunavon area in southwest Saskatchewan, which has medium crude and has vast potential. Hideously overpriced relative to a Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ-T), Encana (ECA-T), Suncor (SU-T) or Arc Energy (AET.UN-T).
