DON'T BUY

Have had a tremendous turnaround from when they were losing money. Doesn't interest him in the least. Stock price is way too high. Still have a big debt load, even though they have cut it back. Believes insiders have been selling. If he owned it, he would be looking to get out.

DON'T BUY

Paper manufacturer. During the bad times, they closed down a lot of inefficient plants and are benefitting from very low pulp prices. Easy money has been made.

COMMENT

He is Short this stock. Pulp prices are starting to roll over and he thinks this will continue due to a softening economy and because China has been reducing its imports of pulp.

BUY

DON'T BUY

Will never again invest in Forestry. Their balance sheet is improved. Sold off assets, reinstated the dividend, but he doesn’t see a future in it. Well run company.

BUY

Riding on a boom because of its restructuring to eliminate debt. The sector is looking startlingly strong.

SELL

The forestry group has really struggled. Ultimately all the marginal mills will close down and you'll be left with the major ones blossoming. If you own, consider taking profits and building up your cash position.

TOP PICK

East Coast forestry. Consolidated so it is a reconstructed company. There seems to be an explosion now, particularly in specialty papers.

COMMENT

Still generating tons of cash. No debt maturities until 2011. Still a lot of debt but on the speculative side, might be worth a shot.

SELL

Generally the whole paper and forestry sector is a tough, tough sector to be in. Being impacted by not only the Cdn$, but was already in a bit of a recession to begin with. Can't see this changing in the near future.
