SELL
(Market Call Minute.) Positive resource growth but gas is such a difficult sector to be in.
COMMENT
Very well-run company. They have a big resource in place, but unfortunately in this gas price environment, it is not supportive of great economics for the gas properties. Company has cut their CapX back and are now redirecting over half of it towards drilling up oil prospects in Saskatchewan.
TOP PICK
18 month hold. No debt. If you want to buy a gas company here is great option. A long-term buy and hold play. Don’t have to be worried about a balance sheet problem.
PAST TOP PICK
(Top Pick June 8/11, Down 28.04%) A victim of low Nat Gas prices. They still retain a highly strategic LNG asset.
BUY
Lots of exposure to Nat Gas. Buy when it is down. Talented management team. Will hold it until they sell the company.
BUY
One of the best management teams out there. Have consistently delivered a great growth story. Recently cranked down their capital expenditures because they have a lot of exposure to natural gas. They also have a lot of oil, which they will be drilling out.
WAIT
Thinks a bottom has been put on the stock but they gas weighting is going to hold it back.
TOP PICK
Thrashed this month. Could be short-term headwinds, but this is the number one takeout target. Trading at a discount. Balance sheet concerns, so he thinks they will cut cap-x in half. Tip toe in.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Dec 14/10. Up 52.47%.) Still a Buy. Takeover candidate.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Aug 24/10. Up 81.52%.) Very prospective natural gas project in the Montney region. 2 weeks ago they put out a Montney well at 24.7 million a day. These wells produce about twenty barrels of liquid per million. Expect it will get sold at $18-$20.
TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Aug 24/10. Up 93.17%.) Highly economic gas. Breakeven price of $1.50 per MCF. Expect they will get sold for $18-$20 in the next year.
TOP PICK
Been a top pick for a year or a year and a half. Undervalued. Sitting in the sweet spot in the Montney area. $1.50 breakeven in this play. Is cheapish on current production. $20 fair value and a take-over target.
COMMENT
Was very much a south Saskatchewan oil but over the years have migrated more. Now more on what’s going on in their acreage in north east B.C. Have multiple TCF’s of gas in place in some of the best Montne. Unfortunately their well costs are about $6 million each, which can be an overwhelming burden to a small company. Good little company and have always run with a solid balance sheet. Well run.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Dec 14/10. Up 41.82%.) Their production plus the Bakken acreage is worth $8.50 a share. Looking at $15-$17.50 a share.
HOLD
Was strictly a Bakken player but have now diversified into North East BC for gas. Prefers in the $7-$8 range but is holding her position.
