Nortel AS (NTEL.TO)

WAIT
Have gotten their house in order on the accounting side. Would wait to see some profits for 1/2 quarters in a row.
DON'T BUY
Getting to the point were, from an operational standpoint, it looks like it's going to survive. Not good value here, but at least it's not totally throwing your money away. Can't see much upside.
WAIT
Once the earnings are finally established to be squeaky clean he wouldn't mind paying 20 times. Could be a very interesting turn around.
WEAK BUY
Has been a great trading stock for investors. Doesn't know enough to make a solid call yet. Consider putting a stop below the $2.85 low that was hit a couple of weeks ago and take a long position, it's worthwhile. Could have a rally up to $3.75/4 which would be the extreme.
DON'T BUY
The momentum would keep them out of this stock. Dirt cheap on a valuation basis. Trading at $0.97 for every $ of sales. Needs higher earnings and good price appreciation. Dead money.
DON'T BUY
People are looking backwards at what this could earn and they don't really have any earnings yet.
DON'T BUY
Still feels there's a lot of risk in the stock from a fundamental basis. Reported their earnings midnight on Friday which is usually not a good sign. Sales were $200 million below forcast. Lost market share in some key dividsions. Also disturbing is they are not making progress on cost reductions that they had wanted.
DON'T BUY
Has a little problem with this one as he still has the 2003 balance sheet. Can't give a model price without updated numbers.
DON'T BUY
Can't see any compelling reason to own Nortel. Thinks they have their accounting woes behind them and people are free to focus on the fundamentals of the business which are lousy. Not a profitable or growing business. Lots of global competition. A ratty balance sheet.
DON'T BUY
A long term bear on this stock. Still struggling with their accounting. Could still be viable if it can suffer through the slings and arrows of all the suits they are going to be facing. The growth in the sector is not as expodential as it has seemed in the past. Dead money.
WAIT
Getting close to the period when this company will be a buy, but in the short term, thinks it is going to drop below $3.
DON'T BUY
Delaying their 1st quarter earnings, but don't read too much into that. Have been through a lot and it will be a long time repairing that culture. Has really slipped backwards in the business market. Still a tough end market for them.
WEAK BUY
The problem he has with this company is that he does not have all the tools to make knowledgable decisions. Income statements, balance sheets, etc. Still a lot of work to do there. If a choice between a Buy and a Sell, he would be a Buy.
DON'T BUY
Historically has grown about 5/6% per year generally in the wireline, wireless and service equipment. Still a ton of over capacity with a lot of competition. Ranks in the bottom 7% in his database model. Sales have gone down by 5% year-over-year. Negative earnings surprise of minus 3%.
WEAK BUY
Has taken a small position in this. It has sold off so much that there may be an opportunity from this level although would consider it a toe-in. A speculative play. May be some positive news flow.
