BUY
(Market Call Minute.) Nice play. Likes the way they are splitting the company up. Nice exposure to new sources of oil/gas.
BUY
Senior oils in Canada are a tremendous buy right now. Because of the reorganization, this is a good holding right now. This will be the largest pure play in natural gas organization in North America.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick May 9/07. Up 27%.) Pretty fully valued at this time. Has lots of gas exposure, which he likes. Short term Hold but long-term Buy.
BUY
Outlook for natural gas is very positive. Took some profits earlier in the summer but for some clients are starting to add back. It will be choppy.
BUY
Have really good prospects on their split. Thinks natural gas prices are more likely to go up than down.
COMMENT
He has taken a little bit of profit lately. Looks a bit more expensive to him at over 3X BV. If your outlook is extremely long-term, you could buy some right now, but there will be opportunities to buy at a better price.
BUY
Likes the natural gas industry and this is the natural gas producer in North America. The proposed split up is a very interesting way to unlock the very disparate valuations.
TOP PICK
Into oil/gas production that takes longer to get going, but lasts a lot longer. Feels investors are underestimating the value of the long-term stream of income. Also, it is breaking itself up into an oil company and a gas company and these types of spin-offs tend to pay off.
COMMENT
In the near term energy prices may be vulnerable to some profit taking. A fabulous outfit and a great inflation hedge.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Needs a pullback to look attractive but gas looks less vulnerable top a pullback than oil. Mid $80’s would be a purchase.
DON'T BUY
Model price is $85.90, a -7.5% differential. If it ever has a substantial correction, he will be into it again.
BUY
Largest natural gas in Canada. Looking for some very good growth going forward. Will be splitting into 2 pieces and the sum of them will be up into the $100's, $110. This will take time to work through.
HOLD
After it splits, keep the gas.
BUY
(Market Call Minute.) Oil and gas prices are going higher. There is great value in the stock relative to the price of the commodity. Recent decision to split the company will surface value.
COMMENT
Splitting putting the oil sands into another company and you get 2 pieces of it. Assumes the gas company will have the bigger dividend. The oil side will have the bigger growth dynamic. Probably worth $100 once you separate it. Also get to compete for capital.
