Canadian Pacific Ships (TEU.TO)

TOP PICK
Dropped very quickly mid-2004. Building a base.
SELL
A little disallusioned with the outlook. Reports indicate that the ships are not large enough and no new ones on order. A lot of their ships trade between North America and Europe and not as heavily involved in the Asia trade where the growth is. Have also had some accounting problems.
DON'T BUY
Just got a $140 million, 10 year contract. This is small for a company this size. A little too early to look at this stock. Still some clouds in the non-operating environment, but some problems operationally as well. Too exposed to Europe as opposed to Asia.
BUY
Model price is $26. A businessman's risk sort of stock. Buy half a position now, wait for the financials and wait for the financials before filling the other half.
BUY
Seems to be now back on track. Business is relatively strong. The weak part of the business is the Atlantic run and they are trying to replace some of the bigger ships with some smaller ones at a better cost. Can see higher highs from here.
DON'T BUY
Has been a tough stock. Not a lot of history. Had some major technical structural damage. Starting to turn the corner a little bit.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Likes the transport stocks, but they had an accounting hiccup which zapped a lot of confidence in the company. Could be a candidate for tax loss selling, so might be an interesting buy.
BUY
Has fallen by the wayside. Was focused on the Atlantic where most shipping was in the Pacific. Also had an accounting software problem. An insider trading accusation is their latest problem. Could be a worthy buy for someone who is patient. A very good company.
DON'T BUY
Had some accounting problems which still have to be resolved. CEO just left which raises some question marks.
BUY
Has had a really tough time. Record shipment of commodities and it should have done better. Higher fuel and changes in the way shipping channels are working have been problems. Working on these issues. Should recover.
WAIT
Earnings have been disappointing. Cheap on earnings. Trading around book value. Would wait to see if the 4th quarter will be OK.
WAIT
In the penalty box, but thinks they will come back to skate again. Excellent management. Difficult to know what's going to happen in the short term.
BUY
To buy would be a recovery approach. A very important company in the shipping world.
WAIT
Under an accounting cloud. Re-examining their procedures and practices. Once they get sorted out, he could be a buyer. Likes the space.
WEAK BUY
Should be booming right now. Concerns on their accounting. What are the new statements going to look like?
