Kraken Robotics Inc. (PNG-X) has emerged as a key player in the underwater technology sector, particularly within defense, as evidenced by the positive outlook from various experts. Despite facing competition from companies like Tesla with its Optimus robots, Kraken's focus on underwater operations and recent strategic acquisitions has bolstered its business. Analysts highlight a robust demand for dual-use technology stemming from increased defense spending, especially in NATO countries. However, there are concerns regarding its high valuation and competition, which have led to caution among some experts. Future contracts and sales are anticipated, with expectations of growth amid geopolitical shifts, making it a company to watch closely in this evolving domain.

Remarkable job pivoting to defense. Thankfully a lot of geopolitical conflicts around the world have eased, but that's why the stock's probably come back down. Keep a core position, perhaps 2-3%. As it goes up toward $5, take some money off the table. When it goes down, buy the dip.

DON'T BUY

He bought this 6-7 years ago. They make incredible products. Growth is good. Are in a hot sector--underwater defence. But business will be lumpy due to large contracts with governments and navies. Doesn't own it now because of the high valuation.

BUY ON WEAKNESS

Great run, he continues to be very positive on it. In Canada, we can't afford an aircraft carrier and can barely afford submarines. Drones might be a low-cost way for us to start being more assertive in terms of our sovereignty in the North. In growth mode supplying batteries to its US partner. Canadian government may possibly invest.

PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Jul 09/25, Up 99%)

(Note the short timeframe.)  The area of underwater drones is really ramping up. Interest by US investors has really pushed this up. Both the multiple and the revenue have grown.

HOLD

Popped because O&G underwater devices can be used for defense. 12-month price target of $7.80, still a bit of runway.

BUY

Likes it a lot. Would suggest a longer hold than 2-3 years, as it's a relatively small company. Batteries, sonar, military. Products are robust and customers like them, but their small size was an impediment. Borrowed $100M to shore up balance sheet. Contract backlog is growing.

Market cap is now over $1B, which brings more investor interest.

BUY

It is involved in the next frontier which is oceans, Makes submersible drones, small to big which will allow the military to expand under the seas where they haven't been able to in the past. It is very good in sonar and battery technology which can stand the under water pressure. In its quarterly reports expectations have been met. Its valuation has increased but growth is good.

BUY ON WEAKNESS

Really likes it, and so do his firm's fundamental analysts. Strong fundamental story. Technicals are awesome. Good run. Add on weakness. Expect a consolidation or correction in next month or two, and that's when he'd be looking to add.

BUY
Natural gas play to benefit from AI infrastructure buildout in US?

A 6-bagger over the last 3 years, and revenues have tripled in that time. Underwater technology is being taken into the field for oil & gas.

TOP PICK

With more spending on defence, especially with the NATO cap moving up, there's an opportunity in defense as well as in commercial. Multiple products and technologies, including underwater batteries that are exclusive to what they do. Robotic vehicles too. Super-strong topline and bottom line growth.

This week, completed a $150M equity raise that shores up balance sheet to satisfy future deal requirements. Looking at acquisitions. No dividend.
