An outstanding company. Recently bought El Paso, a big pipeline company which gives them lots of growth. Good yield in the 4% range and some growth through El Paso.

COMMENT

Basically in the energy transportation/infrastructure business. He would prefer an Enbridge (ENB-T) or Transcanada (TRP-T) because of the dividend tax credit. If you are going to own one of these stocks primarily for income, unless it is in an RSP or TFSA (a sheltered vehicle), the tax credit makes a lot of difference.

SELL

Would buy higher growing Enbridge (ENB-T) instead. Well-managed company. Low growth.

BUY

Acquired Terasin to get pipeline access to the oil sands. If he were a holder of Terasin, he would sell.

HOLD

Pipelines are going to be an integral part of the North American energy market.

DON'T BUY

Energy infrastructure stocks are very much in vogue right now. Feels this is a pretty expensive stock right now. Paid full price for Terasen (TER-T) and their other holdings are fully valued.

TOP PICK

Likes the favourable tax treatment which is similar to an income trust. Has a lot of floating rate debt and benefits with the low interest rates. Extremely well managed. A fairly safe place to be.
