Inmet Mining (IMN.TO)

COMMENT
Volatility is a result of views on metal prices as well as issues on some of their mines and when they may come into full production. If you are buying, look for dips. Prefers Hudbay (HBM-T), which is better value with over $5 a share in cash as well as a new copper/gold mine.
TOP PICK
Becoming the premier copper play in Canada. Great balance sheet. Production should grow this year as its Spanish mine should come on at full production.
HOLD
(Market Call Minute.) Fair market value is being sucked up with a high commodity prices.
BUY
His favourite copper play.
BUY
Copper/zinc/gold. Generally has been an expensive stock, because of both good assets and being well financed. Have about $500 million in cash. This appears to be the one with the least amount of political risk.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick July 7/07. Down 15.2%.)
HOLD
(Market Call Minute.) Has support at around $40 and resistance at about $52.
COMMENT
Likes the mining industry for the Asian play. If you've checked the company and it is in the right place doing the right thing he would not oppose this as a play for next year.
COMMENT
Big new project in Mexico and will need a partner. Very fine management.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick May 2/08. Down 42.01%. Had a stoploss of $75 so he would only have been down 5%.) Chart shows a nice incline from December. You could take a small position in this in the $40-$42 range with a stoploss of $37.
BUY
Up 93% this year based on Chinese demand. This stock will benefit from that demand for their infrastructure spending.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick July 7/08. Down 59.5%.) Fabulously well run. Have 250,000 ounces of gold production, which is coming to its end and they are becoming a more base metal company.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Stock has moved so far and so fast that it's difficult to say you should Buy now. Wouldn't mind seeing a little bit of weakness. Its Fair Market Value has held up fairly well. Speculative appeal.
DON'T BUY
In the current economy, there is no way you can be bullish on base metals. It is possible that copper will go below $1. If that's the case, there is no way base metals stocks will go up. Extremely cheap. Have about $8 net cash per share and is generating a lot of cash.
