BUY
Likes this one for an oil sands holding Has a very nice piece of property. Thinks there's something happening there. It'll be 3/4 years before anything actually happens.
STRONG BUY
Great leverage to the price of oil. Still looking for a mining partner which is expected before the end of the year.
HOLD
Owns a very attractive lease in the oil sands area in Fort McMurray. Recently made a deal with Petro Canada (PCA-T) to start on some of the preliminary engineering. Fairly priced right now so wouldn't buy. Good management team. Have a lot of financial hurdles.
BUY
Involved in the oil sands in Alberta. Feels this is cheaper than other oil sands companies. Have just partnered with Petro Canada (PCA-T) and looking for another partner for mining. Likes how they are trying to structure their operations by having partners that are experts in oil and mining.
DON'T BUY
Could be an interesting story, but this is 5 years out. Their major new venture is in the oil sands.
DON'T BUY
This is a long term investment. Owns some significant and good oil sands property. They are years away from production. There are a lot of things that have to be done in getting the partnership arrangement working for them. Expect it to go sideways for awhile.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
A fabulous trading vehicle based on the price of oil. Whenever oil spikes up, it's a good time to sell it and when it drops down, it's a great time to buy it. Long term it has great potential as they've signed up with Petro Canada (PCA-T) as a partner.
DON'T BUY
A concept stock. Has no earnings or cash flow at this time. A heavy oil play in western Canada. If you are really bullish on oil out 2/3 years, they can make a lot of money.
SELL
Buying a company in the oil sands, this would not be his 1st choice. Well over valued. At best it's probably worth $1.25/1.50. There is a significant amount of additional capital that has to be raised before the project gets up and running. His #1 pick would be Western Oil Sands (WTO-T).
BUY ON WEAKNESS
It will be a number of years before they are in production. May stay in a trading range of $1.50 and $4 for a number of years. Buy on weakness.
DON'T BUY
Teaming up with Petrocan to develop its heavy oil projects in the oil sands. Also have to take on a mining partner. Won't earn any money from this project until 2010, so you'll have to bank on what the market will pay for the net asset value. Can be volatile.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
Is back on track. They sold 60% to Petro Canada. If you want to put this stock away for five years it will do all right. Buy at $1.50.
SELL
Take profits, or sell half and reinvest.
BUY
Very good deal. Attractive for long term view. Short term players are getting out.
WAIT
Had a nice bowl pattern in 2004 and once they start to break out, they tend to go on a tear which happened here. Would start to be a little cautious. If it consolidates again, it could be another BUY.
