If you want to be in this space, he would be more for a Macau play directly. They are actually larger than Las Vegas now and growing faster. Las Vegas Sands (LVS-N) is a bigger player there. Gambling stocks are too unpredictable for him.
WAIT
Finally got their creditors in place. They are out of the woods. Prefers Wynn.
DON'T BUY
Has run up because people have got much more optimistic about the consumer and consumer discretionary spending. Very leveraged company with a lot of debt. Has run up too far for him.
DON'T BUY
If you think the economy is going to start roaring again, this and the other casinos will start doing well again. But his figures show earnings momentum is negative.
COMMENT
He tends to be a big believer in this sector, the gaming space in general. Have a lot of debt, which is scary. If you own you are betting on their ability to refinance. The high yield market is in a lot better shape than in March so directionally he would be bullish.
COMMENT
Las Vegas is really hurting. Was very pleased to see this company was able to get their financing together because he owns their bonds. Prefers Wynn Resorts (WYNN-Q). (See Top Picks.)
TOP PICK
This is a gamble. Struggling but he sees a bit of a pickup. Once the US economy turns around, a lot of people will be going into Vegas.
COMMENT
Has been devastated along with most of the other gaming stocks. Gambling revenues are way down. You'll want to own this when the economy starts to turn around.
TOP PICK
Was oversold when the hurricane destroyed Louisia's casinos.
DON'T BUY
A cyclical business. Depends on economy. Fairly highly valued now.
