Gold project in Nevada with a joint venture partner and development has been painfully slow. Also has a great asset in South Africa. South African gold assets have been out of favour for some time so there’s a lot of value there. Feels new management will do some great things. Will take some patience.
This has been a bit of a disaster. Haven’t had much success in their Ivanhoe deposit in Nevada, which is a narrow high-grade system that runs almost an ounce. Difficult to mine things that narrow. Have a lot of ounces in South Africa but that hasn’t worked either.
(Top Pick Mar 7/11, Down 66.06%) It did not come in on time and on budget. He got out when he was down 20% because he could not get the answers he wanted.
(A Top Pick Dec 16/10 Down 60.9%.) It is 10 million ounces of gold in South Africa going into production, which got delayed by a year with higher costs. Sold his holdings at a loss of about 10%-15%.
Attractive from a valuation standpoint. Worry is the South African component of their mining. Gold miners have lagged the commodity quite badly until a week or so ago. He has a bearish view on Commodities at the moment until the EU problem is resolved. Prefers OSK. Stress safety. Stay away from juniors and intermediates.
Gold. When projects go from development to production, there are always delays and costs overruns. Once they get straightened out there is significant upside but there is no hurry to get into this.
Incredibly undervalued. Set up and going into production with 10 million ounces in South Africa. South Africa is not that bad a place. $1,500 gold will not affect this company the same as others as this is an execution story. If they can get mining at a price (he wants to give them a bit more time of 6 months or a year) then you have a great flowing asset. Should be a $5 stock.
Developing a gold min in South Africa. 10 million ounces in a relatively small market cap company. Risks, but South African ones. Feels this one is being left behind. Execution risks. Have to put the mine into production, which they will do in the next 6 months. If they can do that effectively there will be an evaluation lift.
A going into production gold story where there are technical issues, which he believes will get solved. Very good management team in South Africa. 10 million gold ounces. Good valuation.
A “going into production” south African gold mine of possibly 10 million ounces. Have a million odd ounces in Nevada as well. Very good management team.
Just had a nice breakout this week. Stock has established a new upward trend. Period of seasonal strength is just starting to come in. Stick with it until December and then take your profits.
He is a huge bull on gold. With all the printing of currency in the world, there’s gold. Highs in Jan and Mar and support at 1.70. Buy it at support level.
2 key projects, South Africa and Nevada. It may be in its best interest to focus more on its South Africa project and sell the Nevada holdings. New management with good past experience.
