Domtar Inc. (DTC.TO)

DON'T BUY
It certainly has leverage to continued growth in the economy. Have already seen good returns of the paper sector, so would move on and look for a more later cycle.
DON'T BUY
Uncoated freesheet will be very cyclical. Within that sector, there are probably better commodities to play.
TOP PICK
Has gone through a beautiful triangle formation and has had a breakout and is starting a new upleg.
TOP PICK
Fine papers are late movers and this stock is trading at only 8 X earnings. Well-run with a good balance sheet.
BUY
The industry has been in severe recession for a number of years because of cheap pulp of Asia. Outlook in the near-term looks more favorable.
TOP PICK
There is finally pricing power in paper. Likes their US plants. Lumber dispute may finally be over.
HOLD
A late cycle stock. The market is finally starting to increase the use of their product.
PAST TOP PICK
(A top pick Apr 23/04. Down 6.5%.) Difficult to pick stocks in a market correction. Still in a good buying range, but a concern that the breakout did not occur earlier. Now starting to break out.
TOP PICK
Going to start a final leg of the bull market which could end in October/January. Had formed a very long wedge that the stock just broke out of. Good potential for a new up leg.
BUY
Has some good mills in the United States so not as troubled by the border. Should continue to improve.
WEAK BUY
Well diversified. Very strong management. This sector is the most exposed to the Canadian dollar. Highly cyclical.
WATCH
Has good characteristics. Predictable earnings stability. Havent warmed up to paper sector.
DON'T BUY
Would be cautious on the paper/forest industry. Likes to buy in the fall and sell in the spring. Don't buy and hold.
DON'T BUY
There has been a whole year of very good strength in basic materials, but the stock has just not performed.
BUY
Dependent on the office sector which hasn't started to move yet. We'll probably start seeing some increases. Great management. Well diversified products.
