Michael Smedley Oilsands Quest Inc. BQI-A DON'T BUY Jun 10, 2009

Holdings are off to one side of the normal oil sands operations. Vast territory. Very long-term promotion. It's not the price, it's the concept i.e. does it become an operating entity in the long run.

PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Dec 12/07. Down 80%.) Pretty gung ho in terms of their deposit in the oil sands on the Alberta border of Saskatchewan. Very long-term plan of becoming producers. Appear to have a very good asset. Not a Buy.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Dec 12/07. Down 86%.) Oil sands. Carried down heavily with all oil/gas companies. Very long-term development plans. Needs a great improvement in the sector.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Jan 8/08. Down 81%.) Large geographic position. A play on commodity and if oil goes higher this name will take off. Technological risks as well as a development play so there is no real cash flow. Staying with it another year.
DON'T BUY
Sold his holdings because it is in the mining business (mining for oil) and will have to ultimately build an extraction plant, which will take a lot of money.. Great land position. Too much risk for him.
HOLD
(Market Call Minute.) Doesn't see a catalyst. You have to see substantially higher oil prices.
DON'T BUY
Continually need to raise money to expand and delineate their properties so there is a lot of anguish ahead. In a good oil market it can definitely see $2 again. Very early stage oil sands development.
SELL
Oil sands junior, which is very difficult. Also there is no known technology today that can be used to extract oil in their location. SAG won't work. Can't see it as a takeover target.
SELL
A roller coaster. The way to look at this is that what is driving it is the possibility that it may get taken out. There is nothing to hang you hat on in terms of cash flow.
DON'T BUY
Substantial oil sands leases. Yet to have been proven their new processes can work. Too risky as an investment.
