Viterra Inc (VT.TO)

TOP PICK
This is one that they sold out in February last year and just bought in at $5.67. It is now moving ahead methodically, slowly but surely.
HOLD
Thinks it should stay firm, but you always have to provide for the problems of the weather.
BUY
Has made a big base curve and is settling into the $6 area. Needs some kind of an impetus to get it going. You need a breakout to $7/7.50 to get it moving again.
DON'T BUY
Doesn't see a lot of reasons for it to perform strongly. Just doesn't see it generating reasonable returns for its shareholders in the near future.
WEAK BUY
Has a new structure which will let it be more efficiently managed. Could also result in a take over. What drives the business year over year is the size of the crop, so it's a volume business. This means you have to know what size the crop will be.
WATCH
They continue to watch this one. Has taken a long time to turn around and if it does well it could do very well in the future. The west has had a lot of rain this year.
BUY
Had a nice base building between 2003 and the beginning of 2005. That base can support a much higher move. In a good trading area. Anywhere between $5.50 and $6.50 is a good buying opportunity.
WEAK BUY
Sold it at $0.50 before the stock consolidation because they were afraid of what was going to happen after the consolidation. They were doing a 1 share for 20. Typically a year after consolidation, companies are down in value. Bought it back personally as he feels it has the potential for a double.
HOLD
A much different company than it was 4/5 months ago. Cleaned out the voting structure. Raising money to a rights issue. Once that's cleaned up later this month, you'll have a much stronger company which would be a pretty good takeover candidate. It'll still be a victim of the weather.
BUY
Have just gone through a restructuring. The rights offering is expected to close by the end of May. Between now and then you can get some funny action in the stock. When it’s all over, you will have a much stronger company. The fundamental profile for the business continues to improve. Open to a takeover or merger.
HOLD
Earnings are very high. Hold.
BUY
Going to reconsolidate the shares into Class A and Class B which introduces many exremely favourable differences. A possible takeover target. Weather related. Should move higher.
HOLD
Needs patience.
DON'T BUY
If, on a fully diluted basis, they have over 600 million shares, what will that do to the stock. Have done a lot to get themselves into much better shape. Now making some money. Got hit by poor quality wheat. On the watch list.
HOLD
Reported a profit of $0.10 a share and stock dropped. Weather has been working against them.
