PAST TOP PICK
(A top Pick Nov 17/09. Up 6.87%.) Sold his holdings as unit sales of cars dropped. Prefers others such as Magna (MG-T).
TOP PICK
Automotive parts. Expect like the automotive sector it is a turnaround. $750 million market cap. Very strong balance sheet, which is used to make acquisitions of smaller companies and their customer lists. $.70 earnings for 2010 to $.90 in 2011 gives a 13% PE in 2010.
TOP PICK
Manufacture auto parts. Great opportunities to grow through acquisitions. $.63 earnings forecast for 2010 with a 12.5 PE, declining to an 8.3 PE in 2011 with 49% earnings growth.
BUY
Thinks sector is turning and this company in terms of products and balance sheet is in good shape. Auto production, on a long-term basis; still have problems in North America. Expects a big pickup in the third quarter and a lot of the parts manufacturers will benefit.
BUY
This is a value play. In a great acquisition when they got the US body and chassis operations from Budd. There is a ton of opportunity for growth in this company. Feels there will be a continuous outsourcing from the big 3.
COMMENT
The best run of the smaller Ontario auto parts manufacturing. The high Cdn$ hurts this whole area. They will work themselves out of it and the entry point is quite attractive. He is still not keen enough yet to buy. Would consider under $10, when it would be really compelling.
TOP PICK
Interesting scenario. Stock has dropped as a result of the strong Cdn$. At this price it is a great buy. The automotive sector is having its issues but this company has a very strong balance sheet and have a lot of cash. Will be able to make good acquisitions had a very good price.
WATCH
Reported decent earnings, but guidance was poor for the 4th quarter. Just raised equity and the market does not like this when followed by poor guidance. However, a lot of this is related to volumes in the big 3, which is not in their control. Strong Cdn$ did not help, but if they're looking for US acquisitions, this is quite appealing. Can't see any upside right now. Watch for announcements for any US deal, which would be accretive.
