His view on materials is that it is time to wait because a slowing US economy will give you a better entry opportunity. Doesn't think it's the end of the cycle, but you will get a better chance later on.

Zinc is one of his favourite commodities and this is the leading zinc player. Speculative.

If you are a trader, this is a good entry point. If you are in investor, you have seen the best of this.

DON'T BUY

Zinc producer with a little bit of gold. A very high cost company. Making a lot of money now, about $.06/.07 a share making it a cheap stock. He prefers Hudbay Minerals (HBM-T) which is lower cost production and lower risk.

WATCH

Could be forming a bottoming base, as there are a little series of lows. If they can break through $1.50 it could go back into the highs or higher.

BUY

Had a huge base from around 2000. Has plenty more to go on the upside.

DON'T BUY

A pure zinc play. She loves zinc, however she would prefer to be in a better quality name such as HudBay Minerals (HBM-T).

BUY ON WEAKNESS

A junior company that has the best leverage to zinc. Prefers aluminum, then zinc and finally copper. If zinc just went sideways for a while, they would still make a ton of money but would be looking for a lower entry point based on what the stock has already done.

One of the purest plays with zinc. If you believe the stories that there is not going to be any zinc, this is a stock to have.

Had a huge base from which it rose in late 2005. The stock is quite extended so corrections are likely to happen, but on the long-term, he is very bullish on the stock.

WEAK BUY

A zinc producer. Prefers Hudbay Minerals (HBM-T). Their mines are tougher and consume a lot more energy. Their risk is higher.

WEAK BUY

Feels zinc will continue to move higher. It will be fine, but not the preferred name in the mid-cap space.

COMMENT

High risk, but when it goes, you dig your fingernails in and hang on.

BUY

Recommends Breakwater Resources as the Canadian Junior Zinc Pick. They have quite a bit of exploration on Victoria Is., plus they have deposits in Mexico and Chile. They have had good results and are increasing their production over the next few years. Keep an eye on the zinc price because they will walk in step with it.
