HOLD

Low profile. Not a lot of news. Excellent management. It will improve.

BUY ON WEAKNESS

Met with management and was impressed with what they had done over the last couple of years. However, last quarter was fairly weak, partially because of the hockey strike. Sell lower-cost beers. Likes this longer-term but there has just been a bit of a hiccup. If you own, continue to Hold or wait for a bit of weakness to Buy. Very weather dependent.

COMMENT

Hasn’t followed this one very closely but it looks like their EBITDA numbers are up for the quarter. Looks very interesting. Meeting with management soon.

BUY
Playing it for the second time. Now is their season. Summer was a good one for them. They had to increase their utilization of their plant. They were at 40% underutilized. Since it was there he bought Seagram’s coolers to increase utilization. Debt, AR has increased and cash is low. He is looking forward to the quarterly results for the summer season.
HOLD
Likes the name and regrets not buying it. Management team is a pretty sharp bunch. Just continue to ride it.
BUY
A turn-around story. This past year was the first year since 2007 since they made profits. He said it is a buy for momentum players. He is happy to hold it.
COMMENT
He would put this in his junior ‘fun money’. It makes him nervous when they sued the founder. They have posted some pretty descent numbers recently. If they can get revenues up just a bit, it would make such a difference to the bottom line. All it takes is an early and long hot summer and a hot brand and it could be a $2 stock.
HOLD
Their quarter was fine, but not fantastic. He has a “wait and see” outlook. Good things are coming but not a strong enough story for him to initiate a holding.
BUY
Looks like a good turnaround story. New management. Pretty cheap. Thinks it's a winner. But unrealistic to expect it at $1.50 in 12 months.
TOP PICK
A minnow among the beer makers. No cash on the books. Revenues went down about 11% in the last quarter but they seemed to have turned the corner.
HOLD
From a technical perspective, it is base building. Usually, stocks don't break down through a basing pattern but to break up through one.
COMMENT
A takeover candidate. Fundamentals have not been all that good on this company.
DON'T BUY
One of the first small brewers to go head to head with the big producers. Hard for them to make headway. A lot of competition.
DON'T BUY
A seasonal business. Innovative. A little expensive.
