Oilsands Quest Inc. (BQI)

DON'T BUY
Looking for oil sands in Saskatchewan. Super early stage. From a valuation perspective, all these small cap oil sands plays are not in favour in the market as there is enormous capital associated with them. It will be extremely long term. You are better to go with a near term producer such as Opti (OPC-T) or UTS (UTS-T).
BUY
“The” oil sands play in Saskatchewan. Have one million acres of land. People running it are very smart with good experience. Saskatchewan has far less competition for oil sands development then Alberta, which is kind of crowded. Patience will be required on this one and be prepared for a 3 to 5 year time frame.
BUY
(Market Call Minute.) Likes the large asset base that they have in west central Saskatchewan. Too big a resource to ignore.
COMMENT
Have oil sands assets in Saskatchewan. This is a newer area for oil sands. This company is not bad, but his focus is on some of the newer oil sands areas but through the private arena.
TOP PICK
Speculative buy. They have the largest land position of anybody in Saskatchewan at 680,000 acres. Management owns 20%, which is a very strong sign. Have a report that says there are 10 billion barrels of recoverable oil.
TOP PICK
Will be listed on the TSX early 2008. Saskatchewan. Potentially could be a 10 billion barrel oil sands. A way of getting out from under the Alberta tax regime.
BUY
An oil sands play located in Saskatchewan, a non-Alberta tax situation. Has a massive potential. Speculative.
BUY
Very prospective. Have the biggest oil sands reserves of any company.
HOLD
Have put themselves up for sale. Not in the most central, highest-quality area of the oil sands. Fully valued.
COMMENT
There are a number of oil sands projects that are relatively new and undefined. Softness in several of them because of leases that are relatively unexplored. Will take huge amounts of capital to develop. A lot of reservoir risks.
WATCH
Oil sands play. Just been approved for American stock exchange listing. Have the same problems as the other oil sands players in terms of potential cost overruns, delays in production, manpower etc. On the other hand, they have all the upside as their leverage to oil is so big. Still early days for this name.
WEAK BUY
An oil sand play in Saskatchewan. Very good management team. Good backing and a decent enough prospect, but they don't have the proven reserves that others have. The stock has gone straight up and the potential upside is there. They are expecting some drilling results in the next few weeks. Pretty high risk right now.
