WATCH
He has never owned it. They changed the business so much and he wonders if they can turn this into a turnaround story. He is cautious.
HOLD
He personally likes to purchase ETFs to diversify risk in the space. He likes the bullish technical chart and thinks it will go higher as long as gold does too.
BUY
They have a vision correction technology that they have worked on fine tuning for some time. They have received amazing testimonials, including some from players in the NHL who had received concussions. They have received a large amount of money and feels they are ready to ready to commercialize the technology. He owns the product himself and owns the stock via a private placement.
DON'T BUY
He used own this music streaming business. After the raise in cash flow was directed to buying radio stations he got out. It is no longer of interest to him as these businesses do not make money.
WEAK BUY
This snow mobile marker was the crown jewel carved out of Bombardier. It is probably worth looking at and is a well run business. He has been waiting for a reason to buy -- maybe it is now.
DON'T BUY
They have a good extraction technology for taking oils from grains. They are associated to the Aveeno cosmetic brand. A nice business and he thought they would get into cannabis. When they didn't he sold out. He thinks management is not really public orientated -- they are best to be privately owned.
HOLD
He used to own it. They had invented a non-resource royalty business. They lost some market respect when they made a couple of bad investments. At this yield it may be worth looking into. The model is to pay out the full cash flow, so the payout ratio is 100% by design. Yield 9.1%.
HOLD
The bus maker was recommended by him when it was trading at $8. He expects an index like return going forward as most of the bus inventory has been replaced. There may be some electric bus manufacturing opportunities in the future.
COMMENT

NTR or WEF? He would prefer NTR-T as he believes it will eventually be back to making money. He thinks deforestation is one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. There is only so much arable land and thinks NTR-T will benefit the most.

TOP PICK
This Eastern Canada food distributor to restaurants has been a long term hold for him. It started as an income trust. However when they mis-manged some investments the stock was hurt in 2015. Now they are turning the ship around as new management is making things happen. There are not a lot of sellers anymore. They have a billion dollars in sales, but margins are tight. Yield 0%. (Analysts’ price target is $0.55)
TOP PICK
He has been investing in this for almost three years now. They received Health Canada approval for a new brain stimulation medical device last fall. They are awaiting FDA approval in the US. It magnifies the result of physio-therapy for the brain and the technology is safe. It is a billion dollar business if it receives that approval. Higher risk, but could have amazing returns. It has no correlation to current market uncertainty -- its result is solely based on government approval. Yield 0%. (Analysts’ price target is $18.86)
TOP PICK
A two-way radio on the cellular network. The product has been signed with Bell Mobility. He thinks they are close to signing something in the US with a major carrier. A higher risk, higher reward investment that has nothing to do with today's market uncertainty. Yield 0%. (Analysts’ price target is $0.85)
COMMENT
It's been a good week. The selling was overdone, given record employment levels in the U.S. and other positive indicators. Corrections must happen. He'd like to see a base building, though. As long as there's a momentum happening, he doesn't see a recession, which may happen in 2020--and even that could be too soon. Trump as well as the Democrats have been talking about infrastructure spending, which could extend a positive market. China-US need to reach an agreement; it would benefit both especially China. Both countries are realists and he believes they are working towards an agreement. US Fed Chair Powell should go easy on rate hikes, and it seems like he is now.
PARTIAL BUY
Got really hammered in the sell-off. It's likely trading at far below its book value. He doesn't think the US housing slowdown will be as long as others believe. Good value, though it's too speculative for him. Dividend is 4.5%. This got tossed out with the bathwater. Hold or add to it here.
