Western Oil Sands Inc. (WTO.TO)

DON'T BUY
Too expensive for him. If you want to be in the oil sands, Petrocan (PCA-T) is a cheaper way to go. Also UTS (UTS-T) would be another choice.
TOP PICK
Price dropped recently because of higher oil sands costs. Likes that they are already producing. Costs will affect future production, but not current production. At current oil prices, they should generate more than $2 per share next year. 10 X free cash flow, so very cheap.
COMMENT
Prefers Canadian Oil Sands (COS.UN-T) and doesn't know much about this company.
BUY
Positive on the outlook for energy. Did a couple of things that diversified away from their core area and has been a problem for their stock. At this point, the risk/reward is pretty good. Very strong resistance towards its highs.
TRADE
Hasn’t bounced back like others, as it was fairly expensive. Likes the company. Its principal asset is the 20% interest in the Athabascan Oil Sands project, operated by Shell (SHC-T). Priced with a premium because it was considered vulnerable to a takeover by Shell.
BUY
Dropped when they announced they were going to do some drilling in Iraq. It was such a small amount that it should have had very little bearing on the price of the stock. If you are bullish on oil, buy.
TOP PICK
In the oil sands. It’s an operating project so there isn't any speculation as to whether it will work or not. Trades at a discount to its peers. Good valuation.
DON'T BUY
The most highly priced of the oil sands smaller independent companies.
BUY
Good oil sands play.
DON'T BUY
Prefers others.
BUY
This would be his top pick of the smaller oil plays in the oil sands.
BUY
He likes this stockand has it in his portfolio and is one of their bigger holdings in the oil sector .
BUY
Western Oil Sands is a very attractive target. It will probably be taken over in the next 18 months. All oil sands producers are gushing cash.
COMMENT
In the oil sands, he prefers Canadian Oil Sands (COS.UN-T). He can't comment in any great detail on this company.
DON'T BUY
In some ways you can look at it and it looks a little bit cheaper. It is still expensive in isolation. It will go up and down with the oil price. Entry point is a little high.
