Sandvine Corp. (SVC.TO)

DON'T BUY
Ranks #123, which is high, but partly due to price momentum. Earnings have been shaved by 8% in the last 90 days and are expected to have no growth in the coming 12 months. Great technology, but wouldn’t Buy.
WATCH
This is a good early stage technology Can. company. Provides hardware and software for deep packet inspection. He is becoming a believer in this company. Careful on evaluation. Hang on to it if you own it.
PARTIAL BUY
Basically the traffic cop of the Internet. Fabulous management team. Continues to beat expectations. Stock may be a little weak for the next couple of weeks because of a big block done by venture capitalists. He tends to buy a little at a time. Consider holding for a 2-year time hold.
COMMENT
Pretty good up move into September, but recently has shown a double top, but on short-term basis you are going to see this all the time. MACD looks like it is trying to cross over. Keep an eye on the 50-day moving average as well as the MACD Sell signal. Technology sector is a pretty good sector right now.
COMMENT
Growing at triple digit growth for a number of quarters in the stock is doing extremely well. It is roughly 40X, 50X 2008 earnings according to the estimates but they have been beating the estimates. A lot of volatility.
BUY
One of the few Canadian technology stocks that looks really interesting. Technology enables a network provider to manage resources effectively by understanding better the type of traffic better able to prioritize the packets.
TOP PICK
Hardware that makes Internet networking more efficient. One of the leaders in the next generation of Canadian success stories. Could be a takeover.
COMMENT
Ranks quite well in his model. Expected to earn $0.15 in Nov/07 and $0.17 in 08. Gets about ¾ of their revenues from only 2 customers giving it extremely high customer concentration. Extremely good products that are getting good sales in the cable industry. Next target is DSL followed by cell phones in the next 18 months.
TOP PICK
Channelling of broadband products by prioritizing data so networks don't get bogged down. Dominating the marketplace. Looking for them to get into the DSL space.
