Today, Stephen Weiss, Founder, Short Hills Capital Partners and Shannon Saccocia, CIO, Boston Private commented about whether ADBE-Q, XLU-N, ORCL-N, AAPL-Q, UBER-N, XPO-N, GS-N, TSLA-Q are stocks to buy or sell.

TRADE

He's bought puts on Tesla. He won't short it, but Tesla faces a lot more competition. Witness them cutting prices by 25%. It's highly capex business. It's overvalued. 21% of sales come from China whose own EV companies are killing it. It's crazy to buy Tesla at these levels.

BUY

He added to it a few weeks ago. Their well-positioned to benefit from the capital cycle returning (more IPOs). They have a deep bench.

HOLD

It's isn't cheap now, but it is compared to peers like Old Dominion. Management is super, correcting previous problems. This stock is okay here to hold, but wouldn't buy more given the economic backdrop.

BUY

They will buyback more stock. Whoever though this would be a free cash flow story? CEO is great.

COMMENT

Revenues are flat, but the PE is high. The top and bottom lines need to increase and this could happen if there's demand for the iPhone 15 Pro, which looks promising. But also, is the consumer tapped out? Headwinds can also come from China which accounts for 19% of their revenues, given government intervention and the new Huawei phone competing for sales.

Oracle will want to hear about their OCI infrastructure and the autonomous database--when will they be a tailwind for growth. She expects a lot of AI talk.

Demand will continue growing because EVs need it. Also, supply/demand is mismatched because it takes 10-12 years to get a new mine going.

BUY

Have undperformed this year, but this will enjoy clean energy growth as a tailwind.

She wants to hear about the software cycle: is demand stabilizing and the sales cycle elongating. Adobe will talk about AI.

Capital market activity may return next year (IPOs) to benefit GS. Last quarter, their revenues have been down 8%. He prefers Morgan Stanley for being a pure play, even though financials are not a great place being late-cycle.

Healthcare is down 2% year. He likes the devices in HC, with Stryker his top pick. Surgeries are coming back, and the company has a new suite of products coming.

PARTIAL SELL

Oracle saw 17% revenue growth last quarter. The sector has been booming due to AI. He likes software infrastructre stocks and the cloud. Interest rates could be a headwind going forward. Would take profits because shares have moved up a lot lately. He missed this stock.

TRADE

Likes it long term, becuse digital ads have been strong and their cloud is finally profitable. But heading into fall seasonality you should sell it as a trade.

BUY

Because oil prices will continue to rise and this stock has momentum.
