Sold his holdings when he could see, (not in the very near term) that they have a number of products that are going to be open competition. Expect the Chinese will flood the market with generics. Still a great company.
Swiss company. Biggest herbicide and pesticide manufacturer and 3rd biggest seed company globally. Of all commodities, he likes agriculture best. Demand is very strong.
If you are a believer in the improving diets of the emerging market middle class, this is one of the major players in that space. Seeds. One of the few stocks that is substantially higher than it was 5 years ago.
They make all the herbicides, pesticides and insecticides. Very good, well-run Swiss company. Growth in world economy will determine where the stock price goes. If there were a 10%-20% range pullback in the stock market, this is where he would to average down.
Agriculture. Just sold their peat business. A great play on rising living standards. They provide the seeds and fertilizers. Very well run and conservatively financed. Very strong position in terms of patents. An attractive, longer-term Buy.
(A Top Pick June 29/11. Down 2.49%.) Sold his holdings at $66.40 for a loss of 0.16% when he thought the valuation was pretty full and some of their patents will be coming due.
Likes the agriculture space. This is an excellent company. Has done well and has moved up a fair bit. Wouldn't hurt to buy on a dip. Don't chase stocks here. We are looking for a bull market but we are not in one yet.
Genetically modified seed business. This and Monsanto (MON-N) have been having a slugfest with DuPont (DD-N) to grab market share in South America. This is always a good solid name to own, particularly in our current environment of drought conditions and lower yields in the US.
Try to buy this thing on dips. If it doesn’t dip then buy a partial position and then again later to average down. Great seed company headquartered out of Europe.
Had owned this for over 5 years, but sold it a couple of years ago. Have had some takeover candidates but turned them down. Thinks it eventually will be a merger candidate. They manufacture genetically altered seeds. He likes these agricultural chemicals.
