Orbite Aluminae (ORT.TO)

COMMENT

Decent company. They claim they are able to extract high-grade alumina from clay as well as rare earth. Have a plant in Québec. Once they can prove they can extract alumina, he can see a much higher price. He would be willing to wait for the initial spike that came with success before buying.

DON'T BUY

Wouldn’t put any money into this. She is waiting for some kind of a sales contract or agreement for the high purity aluminum. Until she sees that, she probably will not be putting money in.

SELL

(Market Call Minute.) Thinks the valuation is really, really rich at this point in time.

RISKY

There are a bunch of things on the go regarding the potential of using their process. There was concern about where they would get the energy for the process. A Québec company has just found a significant piece of natural gas about 20 km away. Moving towards producing a high purity alumina by the end of the calendar year. If they are successful, the stock has the ability to move up significantly. Purity is important as they have to be able to recycle acid to make the alumina economic.

DON'T BUY

He is following it. There is a lot of spin on this name. He would not own it but he is watching it closely. He is not sure what to make of it right here. He is more likely to short it and then buy it. There is too much hype around this story.

COMMENT

Have a new way of getting aluminum out of the dirt. In the last couple of weeks, the stock has moved up on a large amount of volume. Kind of like a “show me” story where they have to get the process down and we start to see some revenue and earnings. Not for the faint of heart. As fast as a stock has moved up, it can move down if the process isn’t working.

DON'T BUY

Likes the technology. They are trying to come up with an update resource. She is waiting for sales contracts for the high purity aluminum and also wants to see progress on the metallurgical aluminum where they have an agreement with the Russian aluminum producer. If they can bring these 2 things forward, that would be a huge catalyst for the stock. Wouldn't step in right here. Would rather buy at a higher price and be safe.

DON'T BUY

Has been following this one because it is brand new technology in an old business. Disruptive technologies can be quite interesting. It is going through the difficult phase of spending money to prove it out and now you have to wait and see. It’s not his type of company.

BUY

Massive deposits of clay along St. Laurence river from which they extract Alumina to send to local aluminum smelters. They have a high purity plant for aluminum, which they are experimenting with. This is for LEDs for lighting market and will dramatically reduce cost of production. It is either going to go up or blow up.

WEAK BUY

Process alumina from their Quebec property. Their unique process extracts more efficiently than what is out there. Just a matter of time before they get the process up and running.

HOLD

He got involved very early on. It had a big run. They are trying to make alumna and aluminum from clay. It is a concept stock. He took a lot of money off the table a while ago. They are still not producing but he kept a small position.

HOLD
(Market Call Minute.) Has a complex process of extracting alumina. A little too complicated for his liking.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick June 24/11. Down 54.19%.) Look like they have continued to develop the story. She is really waiting for some kind of sales contract on the high purity aluminum. Expecting it to be significantly higher when this happens.
HOLD
He was involved in very, very early. A bit of a concept stock. He took some off the table but will hold. No revenues or earnings. Leave a small part in it.
COMMENT
Looks very good technically. There was a big, big rally in early 2011 followed by a pull back. Tested its low and is now finding a bottom again. Looks like it is getting ready to take off, possibly up to a $3 level. Put a Stop in at around $1.95.
