Marvell Technology GroupMRVLDON'T BUYMay 14, 2024Stock price when the opinion was issued
As of Jun 05, 2026. Market Open.
AVGO is like the smaller cousin of NVDA. Built GOOG's AI program, increasingly making waves with Anthropic (owns Claude). Interesting, but not a shoot-the-lights-out opportunity. He'd buy.
MRVL is trying to take a share of the chips that go into GOOG, and is already involved with AMZN cloud. Be careful. It's not a given that it's a capable designer of cutting-edge chips. Coin flip. We've been fooled before.
NVDA is actually more interesting than both.
Nice work! Has cornered the market on trading on the edge. Company was early in this area and so it has an edge, though that probably won't last forever. His 12-month price target is $102, higher than the average analyst. Almost fully priced. Still has good runway going into 2026, maybe into 2027, before someone can catch up.
(Analysts’ price target is $88.50)
None of these chip companies should be considered a long-term hold. Very cyclical sector. Be careful about entry point, with a planned exit. Expensive at 37x. Core to AI revolution. Great space, but be selective. He owns QCOM.
