Difficult to find a growth related ETF. You have to go with a bit of a basket. iShares MSCI EAFE Growth (EFG-N), iShares S&P Global 100 (IOO-N) and iShares S&P 500 Growth (IVW-N) are some possibilities with very little exposure in US financials.
ETF to tuck away for a decade? Don't need to know your investment objectives. Nice broad-based ETF. Basket of 100 largest companies in the world. Expense ratio of 40 bps. MSFT, AAPL, AMZN, JPM, JNJ, Nestle, PG, Samsung. More growth than value. Relatively diversified. Great way to start off investing.
This is a safer way of playing the equity market since it is composed of large cap companies. He doesn't love it but doesn't dislike it as much as others..
