BUY ON WEAKNESS
High-quality fertilizer stock. Got a huge bump when I bid was made on Potash (POT-T) and has pulled back but thinks it will pull back further. Would prefer it in the $60-$70 range.
HOLD
Increasing distributions by $.25 a month through to December but will be going quarterly after that so there will be a hiatus before the next payment. Pulp prices have been very strong and more capacity has come on than was expected so pulp prices could dip. Wait to see what emerges.
BUY
Have some big elephants they are drilling so if they hit on some of them, they could go up another 20%-25%.
DON'T BUY
Still nervous about this company. Whenever he thinks all the skeletons are out of the closet, there is one more. Most recent one tends to be long-term care insurance in the US.
BUY
Growth across the 44 Asian countries was recently upgraded which can't happen without a lot of base metals so this company should do very well.
HOLD
Very solid and likes the assets. Someday the price of natural gas will go up.
BUY
Split peas, lentils and diversified into rice. Have done quite a few acquisitions. Quality is sorted by colour and they have put in optical sorting lines. Building a very good, solid long-term business.
TOP PICK
Wonderful energy company in the North Sea. Terrific management. Will be increasing reserves substantially in the North Sea through the drill bit. Also looking to acquire some North Sea properties from BP (BP-N). Speculative.
TOP PICK
Lowest decline rate of the producers in Western Canada. 7.25% dividend which Is sustainable. Light sweet crude in the Bakkens is the most attractive play in Western Canada. Have over 2000 prospective well sites to drill. Thinks they will reach 100,000 barrels and then be taken out.
TOP PICK

(A Top Pick Dec 3/09. Up 219%.) Vehicle lending to subprime market. Turnaround came from a couple of areas, 1) financial services area has come back and 2) started installing GPS technology to control cars in case of non-payment. Still a Buy.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Dec 3/09. Down 17.5%.) Sold his holdings (at a profit) after a disappointing Q1. A lot of lumpiness now that he's not comfortable with.
