Northern B.C. of about 7.7 billion pounds of copper, 8 million ounces of gold, 400 million pounds of moly. Stock fell sharply when NovaGold (NG-T)/Teck Cominco (TCK.B-T) project Galore Creek was halted. If this gets back on track, and he thinks it will, copper stocks will do very well. If not it will be difficult as they would need a huge amount of capital. Better places to put your money right now.
Moving Brazilian Aurizona project forward. Did an economic study that suggests they could produce about 50,000 ounces a year at a cost of about $420 per ounce. Upside is very considerable with about 1.1 million ounces that were not built into the study. Lots of exploration potential.
One of the most exciting, speculative gold plays out there right now. In the Malartic gold camp in Quebec. Have basically 500,000 ounces of gold. Very aggressive exploration program. Could be looking at 800,000 to 1,000,000 ounces. Speculative.
Mines zeolite, a natural occurring substance with very unique properties for a host of applications. Company has a lot of patents on various applications. Bigger potentials have to do with water purification. Setting up a joint company in China. Also have applications for oil/gas drilling fluids. Margins look very high.
Likes the Buffalo Gulch project in Idaho. Relatively small deposit of only about 100,000 ounces but fully permitted and can be put into production quickly. Another 100,000 ounces or so, also in Idaho. Management team is more for exploration than production so expect a spin-off company. Exploration focus is on properties in Mexico now. Farming out a platinum metals exploration project in Montana, which is very expensive. Speculative but a lot of upside potential.
Likes high-grade deposits where you don’t have to move so much rock around. Hinge deposit at its Rice Lake project is looking more and more like Goldcorp’s (G-T) Red Lake find. In production now with lower grade mill feed and expect they will start showing a profit when it gets up to about 800 tons per day before the end of the year.
Silver producer in Mexico. Has produced its first operating profit in Q1. Reached record silver production in Q2. Will be growing production from 1.1 million ounces to 8 million ounces by 2011. Also has a lower grade project in Mexico that will boost the levels of production. Costs are falling dramatically.
(A Top Pick May 21/08. Down 36%.) Down due to a malaise in the small cap mining stocks. Exploration is going very well. Have an open pit mine that is about 5 grams per ton that they are feeding their mill with. Still likes.
Developing the Spanish mountain gold project in British Columbia. Sedimentary-hosted gold system is a new type of deposit to North America. Low grade, but very large. Have between 1.7 and 3.5 million ounces so far but only 20% of the main zone has been drilled. About a 97% success ratio on drilling. Speculative. Grossly undervalued.
Silver producer in Mexico. Have 2 mines in production currently. Turned their first profit in Q1 of this year. Expecting to ramp up production to 4 or 5 million ounces by 2010 and then 7+ million by 2011.
Current credit malaise has hit whole sector pretty hard. Summer doldrums are also part of the problem. In a drill program now in Tanzania, which looks very promising. Press release just came out indicated results were not that promising but this is a huge system with a very large target and some good surface showings. Good exploration play. Highly speculative.
Recently acquired a 1.2 million ounce gold deposit in Arizona. Unbelievably good buying time for companies like this if you believe in a long-term bull market for silver, gold and base metals. Great management. Lots of good prospects. Drilling one in Mexico.
Grossly undervalued. A couple of recent positive developments. Goldcorp (G-T) possibly signing an option to convert convertible preferred shares (about 2/3rds of this company's equity) into a joint venture in the world-class Mount Milligan project. Also guaranteeing a $40 million loan for this.
Sinivit deposit is in production now and will be 35 or 40 thousand ounce per year producer. Cash flow from this project should be sufficient enough to develop a larger gold deposit. Reasonably politically safe.
