Viacom Inc. (VIAB)

Likes owner/operated companies. A huge media conglomerate. The sexy stuff is the movies, but the meat and potatoes is the TV networks. Owns a lot of content such as MYV, Comedy Central. Thinks that at some point something is going to happen with this company. Company is buying back stock. Yield of 1.61%.

Movie division is Paramount and they haven’t really had any blockbusters this year. Next year is looking good. 90% of the revenues come from TV and they have terrific properties, MTV, VH1, Comedy Network and Nickelodeon. There are a number of high-quality US and Canadian stocks that are buying back an enormous amount of their own shares. This company in the past year has bought back 10%. CEO has stated that they are going to buy back as many shares as they can.

Enhances long-term shareholder value through by backs, etc. 2.4% dividend. Stock will grow in line with GDP. But hasn’t since 2000. Multiple compression is a low risk but expansion is likely.
