San Gold Corporation (SGR.H.V)

DON'T BUY

Chart shows a long downtrend from 2010. There is no driver right now. If you own, don’t average down. He would like to see it break out of this trend before you commit any money to it.

DON'T BUY

(Market Call Minute) Some bad news came out today. Difficult stock.

DON'T BUY

Was Short this because they kept missing production estimates and other targets. Ultimately covered his Short at around the $0.90-$1 range. There are a lot of better places to go in gold. (See Top Picks.)

HOLD

(Market Call Minute.) On a value basis, it is very cheap but is probably going to hold production flat this year.

COMMENT

In a district that will be mined for the next 20 years. Has great potential. One problem they have suffered through the last several years has been that they have been building out the mine and perpetually missed their guidance in the number of ounces and cash costs. New CEO seems to be doing a good job of executing and bringing the guidance in line to a reasonable level where expectations are hopefully met. Last quarter they just came out with their highest quarterly production, which is a good sign. Thinks it will have a strong Q4 but in this market you have to continually show the market that you can continually create cash flow and not have to do lots of development work.

DON'T BUY

Looking at his tables, gold producers on a weekly basis are the #1 place to be. This one is making new lows. Has a floor at around $0.75. Trying to right itself. Probably better places to put your money in gold.

COMMENT

2 years ago they were looking to expand their mine as well as develop the Red Lake project that they had. New management team and the story is progressing fairly well and are producing gold. Looks like it will be able to expand their gold mine. Very undervalued. On her radar right now.

BUY
Has always been a big believer in this company. He believes the area is a huge district where there will be mining going on 50 years from now. Geologically speaking it is absolutely spectacular. Thinks management is turning this around and will probably produce 100,000 ounces this year.
DON'T BUY
This is one that he has had a major Short position on for the last 2 years. Has covered most of it because of his view on the sector. There are better places to go.
HOLD
(Mark Call Minute.) Has been a serial underperformer but thinks sector has bottomed.
SELL
Sell and figure it out later. He is repositioning. No point in dwelling on how much it is down when everything is down. Lock in some capital losses.
HOLD
There are other gold names that he prefers that have had positive change occurring. This one has had some disappointments. He has a very small Short position at this time but he is warming up to the sector. Rising tide will lift all boats.
HOLD
Market Call Minute One mine but progressing.
WAIT
Has had a short position through most of this year. He felt like they would need to raise money to build out this project. Has covered most of his short position. Seems like there is some positive change coming. But wait for the equity to be raised.
BUY
Not a senior producer. They are caught in a situation where the market puts a small multiple on you after a certain amount of production. Likes it here but a few things he likes better for subtle reasons.
