Bow Valley Energy (BVX.TO)

WEAK BUY
This is in the UK North Sea and they had some disappointing progress, but now they seem to be moving along and it looks like production is going to be coming on. Not excited about it, but is paying more attention to it.
BUY
Doing reasonably well in Canada at about 2,100 BOE's a day. Expected to be 3,000 by the end of 2005. Also have operations in the North Sea with about 4,100 in Q1. Will come off in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, offset by what they do in Canada. At the end of 2005, they will have a lower cost structure in the UK. Will be bringing on new fields in the fall of 2006. Production will grow with no exploration risks.
HOLD
Things are looking better for them according to the analysts that cover them. Looks like they are having some successes in the North Sea.
HOLD
High risk. Has wild catting and production in the North Sea. Potentially very interesting. Under followed. Wouldn't buy now, but is a Hold.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
They are now around 4,000 BOE's a day. They are waiting to get a go ahead from the Norway government and expect approval in July. Hoping for an Oct 06 start in Blain and Enoch. This will add 3,400/4,00 BOE's. This will allow them to really start growing in the UK and generate a lot of cash flow to retire the debt. Buy on weakness and hold for a 2/3 year time frame.
TRADE
Likes because of the European holdings.
DON'T BUY
Largely exposed to the North Sea where most of the big players are working. Very small company to be there and have had some problems. Would have to prove that they are able to manage their growth.
TOP PICK
The company stumbled last year. Their core assets are doing about 950 BOE's a day. New management team on the exploration side is taking them up to 1600 BOE's a day already. Could go up by another 500/1000 BOE's.
DON'T BUY
Their North Sea results have not been coming through. Have some good holdings and are shooting for some big targets. A high risk situation.
WEAK BUY
Disappointment. Management has done a good job. Patient investor should buy.
WAIT
Had a number of drilling plays that looked very exciting but some of them didn't come through so the stock price dropped substantially. Still some good value. A "show me" stock.
BUY
Drilled some dry wells. Making some good changes. A great buy at this price.
HOLD
Have had some disappointment. Drilling in some good areas.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
A large amount of assets in the North Sea. Has hit some dry holes. Expects new management will turn things around, but will take some time. Good potential capital appreciation.
WATCH
Came up with poor results in their drilling in the North Sea. Have reasonable prospects. Long-term it should be OK, but it depends on their results in the North Sea.
