He'd suggest buying the S&P 500 through an ETF on the TSX, there are a few of these to choose from. You can buy the full S&P, or limit it by using an "equal-weighted" S&P index; or use a bit of each.

Recession-proof. 2025 is exciting, as new emissions regulations for A/C will kick in; new units at higher prices will kickstart the stock. Yield is 2.3%.

Fast-growing, beautiful balance sheet. Acquires lots of companies in its relevant spaces. Consumer will continue to spend $$ on these high-quality products. A hidden compounder. Yield is 1.8%.
