WAIT

Stock had a huge move recently, but is now cooling down. Trend is still up which is good. Seasonality is positive as we get into late this month. Trading below its 20 day moving average, which is bad. However, its relative strength, relative to the TSE and S&P 500, is still positive. The preferred strategy is to wait for the stock to stabilize later this month, and look for some positive technical action. That will be an opportunity to add to the position.

Canadian$? Chart shows the dollar bottomed in May/June, and subsequently went into an upward trend. There has been a little bit of weakness in the last little while, but nothing significant. Trend is still on the upside. Trading above its 20 day moving average. On a seasonal basis, the dollar is not so good at this time of year. The best time is from March right through until May each year. Right now it tends to be neutral relative to the US$.

WAIT

Chart shows this is in an upward trend, which is positive. Below its 20 day moving average. Its strength relative to the market is probably pretty neutral. Seasonally, this normally does very well from October through until January of each year. A little premature to be adding at this time.

HOLD

There are 2 periods of seasonality for the banks. One is from October until December, when it takes a bit of a break, and then February until April each year. Great chart. Shows an upward trend. Trading above its 20 day moving average. Strength relative to the market is positive.

COMMENT

Seasonality for the stock is the same as for the energy sector in general. January until May, and late July until October. Technically, chart shows it in an upward trend. Probably close to its 20 day moving average. Looks very, very good.

BUY ON WEAKNESS

Chart shows it in an upward trend, and is clearly outperforming the market. Trading above its 20 day moving average. Seasonally this one bottoms right around the end of July, and moves higher right through until the middle of September. If you own, hold on. Buy on any kind of weakness.

HOLD

This is probably the doggie stock of the medium to large size gold companies. Normally this is the time of the year when gold stocks start to show a bit of performance. Long-term trend on this one is not good. However, the chart shows that in the last few weeks it has been forming a nice little base. He would guess that it has already moved above its 20 day moving average, and is outperforming the TSE composite.

HOLD

On a technical basis, this is a bit mixed. Chart shows the trend is okay. Relative to the market, it is pretty well neutral. Historically this does very well prior to the Christmas buying season, from late August right through until usually around the end of November. Look for an opportunity to buy more in late August.

BUY

Seasonality in silver is very similar to gold. The 1st period of seasonal strength is just starting right now. Chart indicates that it has recently established an upward trend and broke above a key resistance level. Outperforming the market, and is above its 20 day moving average. Good opportunity to be a buyer of this.

WATCH

Seasonality for fertilizer stocks is normally around the end of June through until the end of the year. However, fundamentals are not good. All the major fertilizer companies are expected to report significantly lower earnings on a year-over-year basis. Chart shows that the stock has just broken down through a key support position, and is now in a downward trend. Below its 20 day moving average, and significantly under performing the TSE composites. Watch for an opportunity after they report their 2nd quarter results at around the end of this month.

BUY

Chart shows the trend is upward. Outperforming the market and above its 20 day moving average. Everything looks great on a technical basis. Seasonally, this usually does very well from around the latter part of June right through until September. A lot of this positive movement has to do with a series of healthcare conferences, which are held where biotech companies announce new results and new research.

COMMENT

Chart is positive, the trend is up, outperforming the TSE composite and above its 20 day moving average. Technically it looks good. Seasonality is normally from late July right through until early January.
