DON'T BUY
Not bullish on this company because the manufacturers/construction/autos sectors in which they sell is going to be under continued pressure. Dividend is probably sustainable for a couple of quarters but their margins and sales volumes must be under pressure.
COMMENT
Gold is pretty difficult to predict and is a volatile metal. If you are going to own a gold producer, this is probably the one to own.
BUY
Very inexpensive. Has been oversold. Base metal story is not a one-month story. Thinks demand from Asia for commodities is going to continue to grow.
BUY
Cominco (CCO-T) is his choice of a uranium producer, simply because of its scale and size, which dwarfs this company. However, it does have ore in the ground and the ability to produce it. Not a bad Buy but there will be more volatility because it is a smaller company.
TOP PICK
Had its 1st losing quarter in 15 years. Took a write down on their asset backed paper but not as much as had been feared. The good news is they will probably make $6 in this fiscal year so you can buy now at 9X this year's earnings. Dividend of about 4.5%. Oversold.
TOP PICK
Had been oversold on news of the government's wireless deal. No matter who buys that spectrum, to do their build out, marketing and trying to steal customers it will take 4 or 5 years. Good yield. Will probably go back up to where it was in the spring.
TOP PICK
A tremendous set of assets. Thinks it has a “holding company” discount. Terrific balance sheet. 1.5% dividend. Very good growth story. Very smart managers.
BUY
This will give you about 10% yield in 3 or 4 months. You will also get one dividend, possibly two. The only risk is if for some reason they purchase falls apart. The odds of that happening are not very high.
WATCH
Took quite a whipping today so he was looking at it. Down 8%. Could be some more fallout because they have the most to lose on the wireless situation.
SELL
Not always on the forest product sector. Can't decide which is worse, the timber or the pulp and paper. They are both suffering very severe market conditions.
