BUY
Just signed a contract with another coal producer which will increase the volume throughput. This increases the stability of distributions.
DON'T BUY
Strong Cdn$ and very strong competition and strong stainless steel costs affected the price and are still in place.
TRADE
Very strong speculation and reports that they are in the process of making some serious acquisitions which will take the company to a new level.
DON'T BUY
There are concerns on them being able to maintain their distributions. Payout ratio is higher than 100%. Have strong competition.
WAIT
History included a very short reserve life, but a very high payout. Have been increasing their reserves. Recently made a good acquisition with Encana and obtained property at a very good price. May be ahead of itself.
TRADE
Volatility factor in oil/gas has really expanded in the last few months. Gas prices are very strong for this time of year. If overweight, be a slow seller.
BUY
Have been very successful in exploring and replacing their reserves. Have an exciting drilling program coming on in the next 12 months. Some debt. Gas prone.
DON'T BUY
Did a new issue at $11.30. A more aggressive oil/gas situation.

Changing to a trust. On conversion, it's usually an opportunity to get in at a good price.

Caller:Shorts 10-yr bonds using ETFs and buys income trusts to earn the spread. A: Go long the REIT index for a basket, rather than 1 or 2 trusts is a safer way.

A gas weighted trust. Good management. Waiting for the Alberta government to come to some kind of reconciliation. Should happen in the next six weeks.

An oil weighted trust. Good management. Likes their progress. Digesting the Chevron acquisition which will take 6 months.
DON'T BUY
Earnings estimates have dropped by 21% in the last 90 days. Overall earnings surprises were positive. Sales of their new Voq phone will be important. Ranks in the bottom 25% of their database.
BUY
Primarily in Chinese based cell phones, but now branching out into other languages. Being used in some Nokia phones. Ranks in the top 15% of their database. Not cheap.
BUY
Not in his database, so no ranking. Has about $1.50 per share in cash. ROE estimated at a high 22% and a 4% dividend yield. Earnings growth is not great.
